Critical (Best) Music Tracks for Speaker and Room EQ Testing

I would suggest using the DALI CD's Volumes 1 to 5 (you can purchase the flac files online). I especially like the Volume 4 cuts - https://www.dali-speakers.com/en-us/sound-academy/albums/dali-cd-4/info-about-dali-cd-4/ Here are links to all of them...

    Constant Beamwidth Transducer (CBT) Speakers

I am using the miniDSP Flex 8 with both my CBT36K and my LX521.4 and am very satisfied. I have a Dirac Live license for the one connected to the CBT36K but have not yet set that up. Here is Amir's review of the Flex. -...

Here is my updated system. I use the PartsExpress CBT36K for my basement home theater. The subwoofers are also from PartsExpress. The amps are a Emotiva BasX A4 for the CBT36K and a Crown XLS 1502 for the subwoofers (the PartsExpress Chinese plate amplifiers died on me). The dsp/crossover is...

    Linkwitz LX521.4 Review (and measurements!)

I am now using Buckeye Hypex Ncore amps. Which miniDSP are you talking about. The Flex series is greatly superior to what has gone before - https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/minidsp-flex-review-audio-dsp.30804/

Any DIY Active Speaker Amp Recommendations?

In my active speakers, LX521.4, I am currently using Emotiva BasX A4 and A5 to get 10 channels. It sounds very good but you understand the upgrade disease. I am upgrading to Buckeye Hypex NC252MP amps, one four channel (woofers) and one 6 channel (lower and upper midrange and tweeter).

    Constant Beamwidth Transducer (CBT) Speakers

Since replacing the miniDSP openDRC-DA8 with the miniDSP Flex 8 and my amplifier with one that has a simple linear power supply the CBT36K kits sound much better. Since the Flex 8 has a Dirac Live license implementing that will be the next step.

    Constant Beamwidth Transducer (CBT) Speakers

I would want the midrange to go down to 80-100 Hz. I will check out Parts Express. One more question, a while back I read that someone had figured out a wiring scheme that would give the correct driver shading without needing any resistors. Any idea where that information is.

That looks very good. What midrange would you recommend?

    Constant Beamwidth Transducer (CBT) Speakers

If you could find air motion tweeters (long and skinny maybe 4 inches long) with a appropriate cross over frequency and use them it might improve things but I don't know of any that go down to 1 kHz like the tweeter array in the CBT36K.

    Minidsp Flex Review (Audio DSP)

I have been doing active crossovers since the 1970's (homemade analog). With my CBT36K speakers I first used the miniDSP Open DRC-DA8 and now the Flex 8. I am also using the Flex 8 as the active crossover and equalization for my LX521.4. In both cases the people supplying the kits also...

    Constant Beamwidth Transducer (CBT) Speakers

Have not tried it with Dirac Live. The arc is necessary for proper phasing of the drivers. The speaker looks like a virtual point source radiator at the center of the arc. It is the straight linear array that doesn't phase correctly unless it goes from the floor to the ceiling and both the...
