Honestly, this is hardly the first overpriced, moderately performing product we’ve seen. Why is there so much emotion related to this one? Amir can’t win, he gets criticised if he goes in too hard on Chord products, then criticised when he frames his opinion on the good bits this product offers.

I think he worked for YBA previously too. There’s an old DAC floating around that looks almost identical to the DAC64, think that was a YBA product. May be remembering wrong though.

So perfect for audiophile marketing then.

Just for awareness @gfinlays I’ve had three of these units from Amazon in the UK and all of them would constantly switch from 2ch to 5ch. Not an issue if you’ve a 5ch setup or if all your media is 5ch but for us, it was a constant issue on Netflix etc on a 2ch setup.

Funny, I was wondering this very same thing myself recently OP. Reading these posts, some say it does matter, some say it does not. I have 1ft RCAs and the ground is probably about 5ft…..should I be worried?

Thank you @gfinlays I believe this is the likely cause. No idea how it entered that mode but holding the power button for a few seconds does seem to have resolved the issue.
