Frankly I changed all my pads to newer style, especially on 6XX which already has too much of a low mids/upper bass hump. Too me the change was was drastic, for the good, even with the lightly used old style pads.

Populate the board and see if the components need to be 'strapped' to the board. Often other than really big heavy inductors or capacitors no extra help is needed other than a bit of glue. Forget hot glue as it will be PITA to remove the component if needed - I would just use a bit of silicone...

Also the newer Sennheiser pads used on 6** series are brighter than pre 2021 ear pads. They're stiffer so they don't affect the sound with time as much as the older ones. I don't know if Oratory revised the measurements for the newer pads. Solderdude posted the measurements comparison on ASR...

Did you try other EQs, say Oratory1990 EQ. While he boosts the 6-10kHz, he attenuates the area above 10kHz. It's also possible that your ear(s) creates resonance around 10kHz. I heard a few other people saying similar thing you mentioned with their hearing. BTW, the older GRAS 43AG-4 has 13kHz...

I would ask Solderdude from DIYaudioheaven, who often posts here on ASR. He uses flat baffle for measurements and specific correction curve. MiniDSP EARS is not that great and accurate especially compared to GRAS professional headphone measuring gear.

Just like Solderdude said, best to buy original Sennheiser pads, even though the new 2021 up pads are different from the older ones. They pretty much keep the original sound, just touch less warm. The new production HD6** series headphones use them and they are replacement for older marble HD600...
