I won't say that it's not possible, but with my 3 WiiM devices, I've never had it happen. As a mitigation against the possibility though, I have the gain on my amp set so that, if the WiiM does go full volume, it'd be louder than I'd want to listen to but not dangerous-loud.

I assume the idea here is that you're triggering the switching of the wall power. That only works if devices turn fully on when the wall power is connected, rather than go into standby mode. As an example, I'd want do something like WiiM -> SMSL C200 -> Fosi ZA3. I'd like to start playing...

I have no ground loop/interference issues with my current setup, and the WPP triggers the ZA3 just fine (with a custom trigger cable). So I don’t think the ZD3 would do much for me.

Only if you have inter-component interference though, right? Edit: I’m not trolling, BTW. I’ve been considering putting a ZD3 between my WiiM Pro Plus and ZA3, but it seems in theory at least as though it won’t add anything, except more components in the signal path.

I'm not sure you'd get either from upgrading from the C200. I'd suggest either EQ (for detail) or new headphones.

This DAC has bluetooth - I imagine the vast majority of devices connecting that way would be phones.

iPhones can’t, at least not at the system level. Plus, if you have multiple sources, every one of them would need to have EQ and be EQ’d separately.
