Only a note to add the the R26 “works” with the Pi2 Design Mercury V3 over I2S via HDMI. Pretty nice out of the box and connection was easy. Need to play with DSD and PCM NOS, but hearing MQA 44kh over Tidal via Volumio for first time was terrific.

My preamp won’t let me activate any sub out (for DSP) without triggering its own DAC on mains. This is my issue. Even if I run mains at Full Range, once subs are engaged (even without a crossover or LFE), it will then bypass my external DAC. TY.

My subs have built in DSP and app-based Room correction. I just need the pre to provide the external DAC pass through to mains, subs as a signal, and ideally a second / remote output signal for B speakers.

Were you on LAN, local or WiFi into the Wiim? I’ve read Toslink is limited to 96khz, then again I’ve read it will do192khz which 75ohm Coax does. I’d sure like to think the R2R ladder DAC in the $1600 R26 performed audibly better then the chip in the $200 Wiim
