While true to an extent, you usually don't want the converters adding color. Some people "clip their converters" or prefer ones that do some sort of analog saturation front end to the conversion but like 99% of people just want their ADC to be as invisible as possible. I think I said this...

Would it be possible to EQ your headphones like Sonarworks? Also how will the listening level calibration work?

You can of course, however your signal path will be going through an extra ADC -> DAC conversion which then kind of defeats the point of having a really nice DAC as your computer output.

Note that the 8330 is a digital monitor so you will be connecting to it via spdif/aes. The DAC quality of your interface will be irrelevant.

I have a PC I built a year or so ago and a RME UCX. I am on the latest possible Windows 11 build and I have 0 problems with audio.

Ahh ok, I understand what you mean now. I'm not surprised by it however--I think that my RME works the same (or at least similar) way. If I have Ableton running with its ASIO driver, I can still hear sounds from Windows.

As I understood, there's no real ASIO issue. It's pretty normal with pro audio interfaces that there's no default driver but that you have to download one from the manufacturer.

I use a RME UCX which is what? Almost ten years old at this point? There was a driver update recently. I think there are likely companies that give you nicer sound for the money, however RME software support really is at a very high level. Things just work. If I was in your position I would...
