no, it does not. 1 DAC chip or multiple, as long as DAC is properly designed (which you find from ASR reviews) they will have no “sound” differences. In fact, DACs shouldn’t “sound” like anything…. as long as they are “transparent”.

As many other members suggested, issue more likely is output format on your TV. You should be able to find under settings the format, just set it to PCM and you should have sound out properly. Avoid auto/Dolby etc., select PCM.

RCA input performance of Vibelink Amp is not worth matching with Wiim Ultra, at least the measurements don’t suggest it IMO. If it is to be used with Wiim Ultra then it has to be optical/coax out on Ultra to optical/coax input on Vibelink amp. And so, it makes more sense (performance wise) to...
