Just came across this post searching for a 2nd hand Arcam fmj SR250. They just don't really come up for sale.
If 2.1 is where you want to land, or multiple subs using a minidsp, buy it.
I've not heard much that can beat it for pure 2-channel. Even downmixing multichannel into 2.1 it gives a...
Ok, but if you have full range speakers with the capability of going low, loud, as I suspect @SaChy has, then DLBC could work.
Although they are very well suited to DART, as and when this becomes available.
About 7 minutes into that video that @davidc posted. Still could do with some further elucidation as the mention is that of a HPF being applied to mains when you have additional subs. Not sure if it would be the case if your mains and ancillary speakers are effectively subs themselves.
Similar, I would ask the question of how DLBC work with genuine full range speakers as those DT's have inbuilt 12" and 10" subs. I don't see why it wouldn't work. One for @Flak to comment on. Probably expedited as you are on a hard deadline as to the 30% discount :)
Only got space for 2 as is, Monolith 15". Front right and rear left according to those diagrams. Just have to hope that the base layer and the two subs can both work as both speakers and support. Never had ART in mind when I got speakered up, the wife may have raised her eyebrows, shall we say...
It's processing power. You can run DLBC, you can run DART. All else is Massimo's effort to integrate/ update firmware and marketing. If there are no major differences in the architecture of the processors from 3800 upwards, then it's a Massimo choice as to where DART lands in the model 'spectrum'.
As an aside, or maybe suggest a more appropriate thread. Would it be feasible to buy/employ speakers specifically for use as support speakers for ART? Would there be any advantage I this approach?
With the 6800 about to be released and Denon already doing beta testing, I'd raise an eyebrow if 6800 upwards to AVC AH-1 weren't going to get ART.
My gut instinct tells me DLBC capable models will get the DART option (3800 upwards).
Not sure I'm reading too much into the screenshot of Gene with the Umik. However, assuming this is about DART, is it telling that the two D&M models pictured are the Denon AVC-A1H and Marantz Cinema 10?
Great value if you want DLBC (spoiler- I do)
I'm UK but will convert to $ for illustration. The x4800 can be had here for $1849 and both Dirac and DLBC (multi) came to $604 (BF and Intro deals).
So that's $2453.
Other than Marantz the only other 'budget-friendly' AVR options with the DLBC (UK)...
Yes, I was just looking at the back and forth and thinking there was a crossed wire.
A couple of questions.
How can the implementation of a chip actually improve it performance wrt SINAD?
What is different in the architecture of the X4000 vs X3000 that drives the 8dB difference.
What are the...
Thanks for this. So in general terms, is there a progression in terms of Audyssey apps?
So, you’d really want the editor app @$20. Ratbuddysey is a free adjunct to this.
Where does this leave the $200 pc app. I’ve read some people’s opinion that it bests Dirac. But is this mainly to do with...
I’ve not used Audyssey before, but have read that you can produce your own house curves using the $/£20 app. Is Ratbuddyssey the freeware equivalent?
There’s also the $/£200 pc app but is this a more DIY approach to get the best out of Audyssey?
I don’t mind a bit of manual tweaking as even...
There a part of the Massimo YouTube video where they talk about isolating components on their home made models as opposed to blocking them together on the lower tiered ones. This may have an effect.
Agreed. It’s just that the polling figure stays atop of the thread. Essentially this review thread becomes the de-facto owners thread or likely the one people link to.
So I’ve looked at X3800H and RZ50 review threads which are in effect the main threads on this site pertaining to those product...
I think I’ve been beaten up by the review thread. I tried to put Amir’s review within the context of who actually own an X4800H.
The fact being that the poll stands front and foremost on the review page. Long after the review and most of the initial respondents have had their say.
The X3800H...
