JDS Synapse & Neutron V1 USB Isolators Review

My $69 Behringer 204HD has balanced out and works just fine. I don't have a singled ended connection in my setups. Even my Headphones are TRSS.

    Best dac >$300

It gets you more connectivity typically.

    New 28-bit DAC coming out.

Mine goes to 29. It's right there on the bits dial.

    UpTone Audio EtherREGEN Switch Review

@Superdad Where's that 'we make the earth round' measurements you were going to show us?

How would you answer these questions? (Acoustics Insider Darko Interview)

Remember he thinks he hears differences in Ethernet cables and that Kingston RAM modules sound horrible.

How would you answer these questions? (Acoustics Insider Darko Interview)

Darko... Where to begin. He makes a general claim that mixing engineers don't want to spend anything over $2000 for a pair of speakers. Here's my question for Darko: Once you've hit something like the top of line Genelec monitors, matching subs, their control module and a treated room, what...

Audio science reviewers are not audiophiles?

I'm an enthusiast first and foremost. I'm a realist 2nd, I'm an economist 3rd. My experience is that your traditional woowoo audiophile has about 60 to 70% of their stack costs sunk downstream of the speaker. I remember one such at AudgioPyleStyle with ~22K in setup and the speakers were about...

NAD T778, BluOS, ethernet vs Wi-Fi

You would run the BluOS via wireless and the NAD by wire. As long as the IP address is reachable you should be good to go.

Do Audiophile Network Switches Make a Difference (video)?

Han's simply doesn't understand what he's talking about. If you comment on his channel, he'll delete the comment. So I've taken to response videos where he can't do anything about it:

Chord Hugo 2 Review (Portable DAC & HP Amp)

So what do you get for $3K that I don't get out of my $79 TempoTec with 1/4" TRRS? At least I can get balanced out.

Hi-fi Ethernet cable - does it help with network streamer?

If the RF environment is working correctly the application layer has zero idea nor care how the transport layer is accomplished. Polk audio forums has the same blind spots. I did a 240GB capture of audio playback and posted the results. 4 re-transmitted for a whopping 6kb and 0 loss and it was...

Hi-fi Ethernet cable - does it help with network streamer?

I got into over at aud10ph1lestyle about their gross misunderstanding about how 802.3 and 802.11 works and provided a few papers on clock domain boundaries and what problems it solves. Complete idiots buying modded Ethernet cards and switches with more higher precision crystals.

Hi-fi Ethernet cable - does it help with network streamer?

Use the Load File to Memory setting. It will allow up to 1GB of allocation if you have it available.

Hi-fi Ethernet cable - does it help with network streamer?

Texas Instruments did a study on your EMI/RFI. They flat out said below 30MHz, and this is on older CAT5 (not even e), is noise immune below 30MHz. To take your misunderstanding further: You should be able to plug a streamer in (they most assuredly run Linux) and if you can install iPerf...

Hi-fi Ethernet cable - does it help with network streamer?

Let's not forget that music is buffered. Take JRiver and setup a 1GB buffer. Setup a 10GBe network. I did for testing. I took a 16/44.1 CD and concatenated the entire album into one track. I was getting 332MB/s on a low end Celeron 3050 system. Started Playback in JRiver and in the 3 seconds...

Should I use an SSD cache?

My understanding is the SSD cache is used for front ending large spinning arrays were there is a pre-fetch algorithm running and doing it's best to determine, ahead of request, what's going to be needed. Not that the array is spinning disks down.

    Crown amp owners, what's next?

BTW: @Mivera https://www.crownaudio.com/en-US I hate people when they are disingenuous on purpose. I mod at some other forums and this would have been @ least a temp worthy ban.
