    Genelec 8351B Review (Studio Monitor)

How far from the front wall do you plan to place your speakers based on your expected listening distance? Boundary reinforcement could be to your benefit (or detriment) depending on how low you need to go!

    Genelec 8351B Review (Studio Monitor)

Having witnessed a pair of the 8351B in action in Sony's mixing studio (approximately 12' x 18') during a session with Ben Goldsmith recording more guitar parts and vocals, I asked the producer whether they had a subwoofer because the mix sounded amazingly full - he said "of course, right?" then...

    Neumann KH 150 Monitor Review

Excellent choice, I've been using the v2 for editing/mixing/mastering the last year since its release and no complaints at all (1m distance in a treated room). And if you need higher SPL because your seating distance changes in the future, adding a subwoofer will extend its usefulness yet!

    Neumann KH 150 Monitor Review

Adding a matching sub to the KH120ii would improve mid clarity for sure

Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance Review

ASR does not review "build quality" to the same degree as performance, but I get your point.

Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance Review

I believe a product's worth is more than just a simple cost = performance metric because that's reductionism taken to an extreme. Yes, measurable performance is one metric but let me list a few more that add to the cost of the product that you haven't mentioned but needs to be considered in...

Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance Review

Count me in as the #2 most superficial user! I'm willing to give up inaudible performance gains in return for tastefully appointed textures and contrast.

Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance Review

Unfortunately, design (fashion in general) is not protected by any sort of IP law and as a result, their ROI only lasts until a 99% knockoff hits Amazon whereas true IP protection leads to billion dollar IP pools that run for decades. This is why brand name purses and clothing integrate their...

Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance Review

funny you said that, i immediately wondered how to make it less gender specific because ironically, i count myself in the group of those who will not buy any product that's not aesthetically appealing regardless of their performance (covering it in a blanket doesn't make it better!)

YES, the $2,399 Syng Alpha Cell has been shown to hit below 30hz here are some reviews confirming that spec: Erin's thorough YouTube review https://www.forbes.com/sites/bradmoon/2022/11/19/review-syng-cell-alpha-triphonic-wireless-speaker/...

    Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro Review (headphone)

It's possible you got the wrong headphones for "easy listening" plug-n-play. Bring your headphones to a retailer that will allow you to A/B test your headphones with a more balanced model from Sennheiser and see if you prefer the more crowd pleasing reference curve - who knows, you may prefer...

    Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro Review (headphone)

I'll add my response to this circle of confusion because I think we need to address the audience for the DT990 Pro and similar products. In the context of ASR's readers where people are buying as the end consumer listening to music that's as pleasant as possible (whatever reference curve that...

    SMSL D-6s Balanced DAC Review

Or put another way, using Jenga as a metaphor, where each Jenga block represents $20, if $189 adds up to a bare bones structure - the baseline of where quality balanced DACs begin because anything less and it simply doesn't work, how much more are you willing to pay to solve all the problems...

    SMSL D-6s Balanced DAC Review

At this point, audio device makers like SMSL should focus their resources on (1) good GUI, OS for internet streaming and control (2) convenient physical layout with tangible knobs/dials (3) a comprehensive set of I/Os (4) and some form of DSP/EQ that integrates directly with REW for uploading...

    AIYIMA A70 Stereo Amplifier Review

Just imagine where we'll be in 3 years! It's amazing the level of performance for the price and I for one look forward to the next generation of $300 (lol with inflation) Class D amps.

    Constant Beamwidth Transducer (CBT) Speakers

They're only random until you realize that they cost $100 per stick as they absorb stray frequencies that diminish soundstage!

    Dutch&Dutch 8C /Genelec 8351b and Amphion something or other.

As their dispersion patterns are not identical, their will always be subtle differences with regard to stereophonics and room interaction but above 250Hz I'm sure you can come darn close as long as you know what the 8C's frequency curve in your room and that's the hard part.

    Dutch&Dutch 8C /Genelec 8351b and Amphion something or other.

Also, the reason people buy Genelec is the GLM/DSP/EQ capability that can literally tune it to your taste and needs - it's not like people have to live with piercing highs either! IMO it's this flexibility that make them so desirable

Policy Change for "Desperate Dealer Forum"

Absolutely, ASR was never intended to be a "marketplace" but many members wished to sell their things and would prefer to sell to fellow members so it's here purely as a convenience for membership. @amirm gets absolutely no benefit for helping out this community by allowing such a marketplace...
