    Topping Reliability

That sucks... I just shelved my old Schiit Aasgard 3 for the A70/D70pro combo. And the Aasgard 3 also had some DAC/USB/driver issues on Windows, but at least it could be turned on. Thanks anyway.

    Topping Reliability

I've unplugged everything, and let it sit on my desk for several minutes, but it still only flicker on(can see the topping logo briefly) for half a second and then turns off for approx. 2 second and do this over and over, non-stop. I can press the volume knob, and then it shows the DFU-text...

    Topping Reliability

Sorry for jumping in, but can you describe how these "lock ups" present themselves? I've had my D70pro Sabre for 7 months, and today I tried turning it on by pressing the volume knob and all it does is flicker the topping-logo and turning it self off. Looks like a reboot cycle that happens...

This audiophile-sprout needs a reality check and DAC and AMP recommendations

I still haven't decided if I should go with a dac/amp combo or a stack. The RME ADI-2 has definitly been praised lots of places, but if I decide that I want a stack then I need to look elsewhere. I do love the aesthetics of the topping D70pro + A70 pro. And both measures waaaay into the blue :)...

Sadly, no. Not without purchasing devices etc. My PC is outdated, and closing in on retirement for a new one. And I plan to spend more on a motherboard with decent features and output. The Asus Z270-P that I have now only have USB and line out. But until then I might as well get a dac that...

This audiophile-sprout needs a reality check and DAC and AMP recommendations

I was about to say that it's been a while since I willingly pulled the plug when it was working. But since it's NOT working right now, I might as well connect my headphones and take a listen. ... ... When powered on and not connected via USB, it's silent. When connected via USB HUB I hear a...

This is exactly why I felt I needed to stop and reassess after reading comments here on ASR. EQ have a much bigger impact, and at the moment I don't have a huge lineup of headphones, and especially ones that are hard to drive. But, but, Mr. kemmler3D, isn't the decible scale logarithmic? :)...

hehe yes, I have tried all 12 ports on my computer. 8 in the back - 2.0 and 3.0, and 4 in the front. Even with a powered USB hub that was also connected to every port I have. It's all windows driver compatibility... Since every port works out of the box when I boot into Linux. And I've...

This audiophile-sprout needs a reality check and DAC and AMP recommendations

hehe, I currently work with code and filter out data to then repackage it in new files - on a byte level. So I have tried to create some .wav-files and adding simple numbered values to create tones based on their frequency. Therefor I later realized that as long as the data that passes through a...

This audiophile-sprout needs a reality check and DAC and AMP recommendations

hehe yes, with every windows update my USB issues got worse and worse. This also got me thinking about finding a DAC with its own driver from the manufacturer, just to counteract the "amazing Windows plug'n'play UAC1/2. However I would prefer stuff just working. Hopefully I get a nice dose of...

Yeah, the DX5 was where I first started. It got great reviews here and ticked most of my boxes with regards to digital inputs. And price-wise it also would let me get a Sennheiser HD6XX or even let me get the HD800S with a little extra money added. But then I made the mistake and read about...

I replied to this to the comment above your, so dont want to fill the whole page with a double reply :D I have actually thought about this. But like you said, my home office is tiny, and desktop space is even smaller! I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to electricity, power and all...

Oh, dont even get me started... I made a post on reddit earlier today, before I signed up and made this post. So I'll copy/paste the same rant I wrote there.... I even forgot to mention I got desperate and bought a AudioQuest Cinnamon USB cable, just in case it could fix the errors.

I don't have a fixed number and types. But currently I only have USB, which is giving me trouble. So adding optical, coax, spdif would be awesome. I've read that IIS / I2S is decent, but since I don't have the output-source for it it would just be a nice placeholder. Basically more than just...

Thanks, I'll give it a read! I have seen the name mentioned several times here on ASR, but sometimes its hard to have the time to check all the devices mentioned to see if its relevant to my wants and needs :D

This is my first post, so I apologize for all the wrong things I might do. I already have the Schiit Asgard 3 with the 'True multibit DAC module' , but it struggles with Windows 10 and USB on my PC. But I've also realized I want more features and connection options, and maybe also get...
