    WiiM Ultra Streamer Preamp Review

    Ah. Thanks. That makes sense.

    WiiM Ultra Streamer Preamp Review

I get your core point about wireless being cleaner. Not too sure what 'unless basic adjustments' means though?

    WiiM Ultra Streamer Preamp Review

Cheers. I will end up giving it a proper listen both ways and see where I end up.

    WiiM Ultra Streamer Preamp Review

I did test it and the practical functionality was great. BUT one clever observation that came from elsewhere was that Wiim streamer groupings are limited to 48khz. So that may be a factor for some users. In my test the 48 khz limit on grouped WiiMs was a thing. I also did run cable direct from...

    WiiM Ultra Streamer Preamp Review

I have posted this question on the WiiM Home Forum too, but I thought this community might have an additional technical perspective. I am thinking about using a WiiM Ultra on my desktop (where I can see the and touch the screen easily or use the headphone out on occasion) to control the audio...

    Subwoofer cable for coaxial audio?

Thanks. Is that because the subwoofer cable is 75ohm - so it has the specs needed to do coaxial audio? I'm not an electrical engineer so sometimes I am a bit unsure of the technical issue/requirements.

    Subwoofer cable for coaxial audio?

I have been trying to find an answer for this by searching this site and the web and haven't found what I need. There are plenty of discussions about using coaxial cables to connect a sub, but not the other way around. Apologies if I have overlooked the answer elsewhere. I would like to use an...

    WiiM Ultra

A quick note on screen size /utility. My Ultra sits in a system in my lounge so the whole family has access. Sure, you can't see detail from across the room - but if you are a bit closer it gives you details about what is playing at a glance. More importantly, with 12 presets easily put in place...

    WiiM Ultra

Playing around with room correction with my Ultra. Has anyone else found more success by limiting correction to 500 Hz or so. I found running correction more 'full range' I got an unnatural or veiled effect that I did not like at all. In a small room, with bookies and a sub I was able to...

    Music Streaming Devices Comparison Discussion

I'm in Australia too - so I very much get you about the relative prices. I think some of those price relativities are similar elsewhere too. I'm about to take delivery of my own WiiM Ultra for just that reason (price). And also it fits for me in an ecosystem where I am running WiiM streamers in...

    Music Streaming Devices Comparison Discussion

A bit of an aside from your direct question, which was about 'sound perspective', but obviously the Eversolo A6 and A8 offer other advantages such as build quality (for example, see discussions about the feel of the Ultra volume knob) or additional inputs/outputs or screen size or internal SSD...

    Wharfedale Super Denton

Hey Bernard, I can't send you a properly thoughtful response about the differences just now. I'm a bit pressed for time for the next few days. But I will say that if you are looking for something that makes you less subwoofer reliant than you are with the DBR62s then the Supers probably won't...

    Wharfedale Super Denton

I'm not sure if 'amazing' should be the standard at their price point, but in any event have you looked at Erin's detailed review and data? https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/loudspeakers/wharfedale_super_denton/ Just to pull a section from his conclusion (and picking up on something I also found...

    Wharfedale Super Denton

I think AC1 has nailed a couple of the key subjective things with speakers here. Some will find the treble in one pair to be harsh, others find the same speakers to be just right. Might be their preference, might be their room, might be a lot of things - but that is the subjective joy of this...

    Wharfedale Super Denton

I would certainly choose Super Denton over the 85s. But there is a corresponding price difference in most markets too. At least in Australia Wharfedale discounts products pretty regularly, including the Supers, so that's when I would pull the trigger.

    Wharfedale Super Denton

As I've said in other posts, if you have the room for them I think I'd agree with this. Go for the Lintons. Though I really like my Supers too and in the kind of space they are intended for they are great (I have both Lintons and Super Dentons in my home).

    Wharfedale Super Denton

That is how I use my Super Dentons in my smaller room. They are excellent. And I wouldn't worry too much then about Lintons instead of Super Dentons in your use case. For example, even though spinorama data is not the last word in whether you will like a speaker; just as an indication of how...

    Wharfedale Super Denton

If you aren't taking into account the room size or other limitations you might have on space - including whether others might not like such big speakers - then yes I think the Linton 85 is overall a more capable speaker. That is not taking away from the Super Denton being excellent (particularly...

    Yamaha A-S701 Stereo Amplifier Review

That is a completely fair call. I don't play vinyl much and my comment was just based on the impression I had having used the AS701 and NAD at different times (although in the same room and with the same deck). By no means a scientific effort.

    Yamaha A-S701 Stereo Amplifier Review

It did have that cartridge. I'll check out your suggestion. Although, I am not really a big vinyl guy anyway. Cheers
