    AIYIMA A70 Mono Amplifier Review

The Fosi V3 Mono, while lacking the volume, subwoofer controls, and trigger seems to be a better choice for just a bit more money. That said, if you don't have a preamp to control the input the AIYIMA would be more practical.

NEOHIPO ET30 VU Meter Speaker Switcher Review

I enjoyed looking at that Radio Shack catalog archive. Earlier on they sold many different brands including McIntosh and Dynaco to name a few. Interesting to see them progress to RS branded components in the 70’s and onward.

NEOHIPO ET30 VU Meter Speaker Switcher Review

Don't forget these classic devices. My friend had the one on the right back in 1977.

NEOHIPO ET30 VU Meter Speaker Switcher Review

I'm using it to switch between a McIntosh MC2105 and Schiit Vidar 2. Amir doesn't recommend this, but I've had no problems so far. However, with Amir's caution in mind I think I'll do the switching prior to powering on either amp. I really don't need to do any live A/B switching. I just...

    Schiit Saga 2 Purchased

From Schiit Hi Lee, Your testing is correct, Saga 2 does not mute when the headphones are plugged in. Schiitalker is our experimental AI, or Artifical Inteligence, who does his best to answer questions about Schiit products, but as seen here he doesn't always get it right. Evan Scriviner Schiit...

    Schiit Saga 2 Purchased

As I mentioned earlier in this thread I never listen with headphones so that’s not an issue for me. The Lyr is a good choice for a headphone/preamp if all you need is a single analog input for your DAC or streamer. I’d skip the tube as the solid state circuitry sound better to me.

    Schiit Saga 2 Purchased

Just tested and the single ended do not mute. Since I don’t have a balanced amp I can’t test that but I assume it would be true as well. One can always turn off the power amp to mute speakers.

    Fosi Audio LC30 Speaker/Amp Switcher & Meter

Too bad about the degradation. I was hoping for a switching device between my two amplifiers and a single set of speakers.. I saw your positive review of the NEOHIPO ET30 VU Meter Speaker Switcher and thought the FOSI unit was the same thing, but obviously it's not.

    Schiit Saga 2 Purchased

I’d be reticent to mess with it and void the warranty. I may shift my rack over and improve the angle.

    Schiit Saga 2 Purchased

Poor design in my opinion. If your directly in front it works well. I’m sitting a bit to the right. I agree, who needs a preamp without gain. You can make that choice with the Saga 2 if you like.

    Schiit Saga 2 Purchased

Hi Joe Confirming no output to headphones in the passive mode for any input or source. I didn’t notice because I don’t listen with headphones. Also confirming that the passive and low gain are the same if you’re using the single ended outputs From the advertised specs: Low Gain: 1x/2x...

    Schiit Saga 2 Purchased

I recently purchased the just introduced Saga 2. I was replacing an Acūrus Act 3 AV processor (vintage 1997) that I was using as a stereo preamp (hand me down from a friend). However, before the Saga 2, I purchased a Schiit Lyr last month for $649 (including the 6SN7 tube). It’s marketed as a...

Dynaco ST-70 Series 3 Tube Amplifier Review

I thought I had the the Sammy Davis Jr. recording of In a Persian Marketplace, but I was not able to locate it on any of my hard drives. I did find a version of it here The Albert Ketelbey Archives Historical 78 Recordings I think it's been processed and restored, but it's a great example of...

Dynaco ST-70 Series 3 Tube Amplifier Review

I found a recording of “In a Persian Marketplace” by Sammy Davis Jr. at the George Blood Digitized 78 RPM collection at the Internet Archive. I was looking for the most recent 78’s that overlapped the dawn of LP’s. I wanted to see if the 78’s higher write and read speed would result in an...
