    Moondrop Chu II IEM Review

I just got the Chu II DSP in last night. I spent two hours doing some extra work yesterday evening with them in my ears. Comfort is good for me. The Shure SE215 is my point of reference here. They don’t wedge themselves as deeply into my ear as the Shure does, however they are just as...

    Yamaha R-S202 Receiver Review

In North America we have a weird digital radio format called HD Radio (for Hybrid Digital, not high definition). However nobody is putting it in anything other than cars. One Chinese brand named Sangean makes portable and tabletop radios with HD Radio, but they’re pricy. I have a battery powered...

    New JBL closed back measurements

I made an excuse to buy new gym headphones after watching DMS’ old video about the 710. I was able to get my black pair from Microcenter for $51. At that price they’re a hell of a value. I’m not sure what the 720 brings to the table other than more play time on a charge? Kudos to JBL/Harman...

    Yamaha R-S202 Receiver Review

I have the predecessor to this receiver, the R-S201. I'm pretty sure that the only difference between the two is that the R-S202 adds bluetooth. They look identical otherwise. My R-S201 is ten years old. My wife bought it in 2014 when we were just dating. When we had our first apartment we were...

AKG K240 DF- diffuse field tuned, bass light, detail monster AKG K701- the OG of my collection, original Austrian model from 2006. It actually soundstages, which is pretty cool for a headphone. AKG N400nc- Got these when Harman was clearancing them a few years ago. Some weird UX quirks are...

Welcome New Members to ASR, introduce yourself here.

Hey all. I joined after enjoying many of Amir's reviews as a lurker. I live near Philly and in the US and work in insurance. I've been in the hobby for fifteen years but hang a little more on the budget and vintage side of things. My preference leads a little bright and lean, so abotu the only...

Best way from computer into receiver

WIth a DAC you would just use one of the receivers analog inputs. Why don't you think the built in DAC is up to the task? I have my streamer plugged into the RX-V385's S/PDIF input and I think it sounds fine.
