Hifiman HE400i Review 2020 Revision (Headphone)

I had a pair of these , then I had a pair of HD600, I think they make HE400i to a sound signature like hd600, in which the 2k or 5k have a dip, try to make the soundstage of a Concert Hall , and female voice very far away. but not very successful, the female voice too far and thin. the Symphony...

    Topping D30Pro Review (Balanced DAC)

Maybe update the driver ? I have heard the pop/clicks, but it's for a cheap usb cable and a type-c port on Graphic card, which I tested for fun. When I use a standard cable and usb port on main board , it's fine, no pop/clicks for long run.

    My Topping EX5 review

For me ,I am admirer of TOPPING product, with a philosophy which is called Occam's Razor :“Entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily ” or in Latin form:"Pluralitas non est ponenda sine necessitate " And for the innovated part, NFCA, 2 dac chips for better SNR, they put efforts on the...

Both DAC are transparent as measures by Amir, why one not as clean sounding as the other?

OK! it seems there are 2 clocks!!!! I must be blind ~~~~ and they must be 22.5 and 24.5 , so no need for DPLL on chip!!! So , there must be something else, my theory fails~~ LOL~~~

Both DAC are transparent as measures by Amir, why one not as clean sounding as the other?

Thanks !! and my apology for the RCA output info, I did some searching again ,they say the RCA output is combined the +/- signals after XLR , so that wouldn't rule out the DPLL un-sync case for 4 chips. from the board there are OP_L+ OP_L- ,which pass to a OPA1612 then OP_L to OUT_L, and OP_L+...

Both DAC are transparent as measures by Amir, why one not as clean sounding as the other?

from the tear up thread here: [心得] Topping D30 PRO 開箱&拆機 - 看板 Headphone - 批踢踢實業坊 (ptt.cc) there are no standard 22.5or 24.5 oscillator on board, it is using an Altera CPLD 5M80ZE64C5N programmed oscillator , which I don't think to be 22.5or 24.576MHZ necessarily. So , "the PLL must be turned on...

Both DAC are transparent as measures by Amir, why one not as clean sounding as the other?

Theoretically yes!!! But here we are in this situation, that E30 outperforms newer D30PRO and I can't think of any other explanation for topping to have this issue. I am not an expert in DPLL ,I checked this: Phase-locked loop - Wikipedia , and it shows DPLL process needs time to get stable...

Both DAC are transparent as measures by Amir, why one not as clean sounding as the other?

For D90se ES9038PRO, the clock can be set to one master chip , and for D70S it has two expensive ACCUSILICON clock source, I guess AKM doesn't have DPLL. For d30pro , DPLL must be turned on for each chip, which means they operate independently.

Both DAC are transparent as measures by Amir, why one not as clean sounding as the other?

yes and no. the other chips are without dpll function , so combine them you need a outside clock signal and dpll to produce a single clock signal to all chips and path , so they are all synced in digital signal. combine them is like linear time invarant system , you add the signal and noise ...

Both DAC are transparent as measures by Amir, why one not as clean sounding as the other?

I read from start to this place . thanks for your work!!! I am from a software design background, but in the field of cellular wireless communication SOC product. My guess is : the clock drifting issue, as you test from different USBs, because USB interface needs local clock to demodulate...

Gustard X26Pro Review (Balanced High-end DAC)

Here you say " the difference between A B C is actually matching different machine models" So A B C are for different machine models, which must be different hardwares ? I guess??? So for X26PRO , this specific model ,why it has A, and C??? When you just release the A as upgrade, is it mean the...

Ashame of you guys ,now you are telling us there are different hardware versions? which measure differently? and you guys messed up the right firmware for the right hardware version? come on! it is A, then B then C for the software versions from the day software exists, universally. it is...

Gustard X26Pro Review (Balanced High-end DAC)

It is a new kind of snake oil with the out clock thing , Nowadays with smartphones , the internal clock is more restrict with high G-HZ sync with RF signals from air which is always changing with jitter, phase , amplitude, frequency-shift with doppler effects, multi-path problem etc. Which never...

    Machine learning and digital audio

It's a pretty simple model, it only use frequency information to predict higher frequency, in fact, higher frequency may caused by echo which is time domain related. I recently read a paper on video unsupervised learning, a time cycle approach: TimeCycle and an update version. GitHub -...
