Noob question active is with amp built in? Passive with external amp? My speakers are powered by external amp/ Nad m10 v2

I have no wires showing and my receiver is an Nad M10 V2. Monitors require different hook ups. I am trying not to drill any more holes. The 2 black boxes on the mantel/ shelf are my current speakers. Martin Logan Motion 4i.

After downloading both language packs to read the review, it appears the writer is demoing the Arc software and saying it makes room corrections when you might have reflections, from your computer desk and placement of speakers. Bass traps. Thanks for sending me this link.
