I never had that issue. It kind of sounds like that may be your TV or a faulty HDMI cable. I would try it with a different TV and/or with a different cable.

I am not sure what you mean by “The amp's mode doesn't seem to change after you replaced the speaker.” But, I tried everything. I also tried everything again while on the phone with Marantz tech support.

I just purchased some KEF Q150 Bookshelf Speakers and some Blue Jeans cables to give the M1 another go. Unfortunately, it is doing the exact same thing it and the previous M1 did with my Dev Techs. So, I guess I’ll be returning this unit as well.

I see that the M1 has an “Flasher IR IN”. I assume this is for a remote? If so, what kind of remote would one get to be compatible with the M1? I am seriously considering the M1, but I would really like to be able to use a remote.

Since the WiiM’s enclosure is made of aluminum (which is a fantastic heat sink), I wouldn’t think that overheating would be an issue.

I am new to HiFi and was hoping for some insight. I am strongly considering the WiiM Amp Pro to power my Definitive Technology Demand D15 3-Way Towers (Sensitivity 85.5db) and DN8 Subwoofer. Would the Amp Pro be a good option? Or would the Marantz M1 be worth the extra do re mi? Thanks in advance!
