There is no audible difference. I have a VU meter that can take 2 amps and 2 speakers and I have the amps level matched and can switch back and forth remotely and can't tell the difference. I just like the look and idea of separate amps.

Are you sure the polarity is correct on the monos? I have the ZA3 and V3 monos and PA5II. They all sound essentially the same except the ZA3 can have a hard edge on the higher frequencies. The PA5II and V3 mono sounds perfectly smooth all the time. I use the monos because they look cooler and...

There's been at least one report of one unit being hotter than the other but I didn't see any follow up. The cooler one likely did not have paste. Open it. But you better have paste on hand to replace it from opening it. Mine are very warm and I don't suspect missing paste.

I would say that is an indication the paste is applied. It's transferring heat to the case.

There's literally a video demonstration by a member in this thread showing the phase is exactly the same on XLR and RCA inputs.

I am using V3 monos too but I am hooked up to the speaker outputs of the ET30 instead of the amp. And the speakers are hooked to the amp input. It's actually by mistake but I just left it. Works fine

Finally received my order today. Backer 97. I ordered two monos and one 10a supply with a Y cable. What I received was two monos and two 10a power supplies. I guess that's ok since it was determined later that 2 supplies is better than 1 and 1 required an additional filter.

I didn't know about that penalty on the sinad on the V2. V1 is a marginal performer, I'd call the V2 a below average performer and a terrible value because of the cost. It's still a cool design and functionality is awesome.

Look up the VinylSonic kickstarter and see a campaign that took everyone's money and disappeared with like $600,000 over a year ago. I'm out $149. Not tragic to me but still a poor experience. You really can lose your money.
