I've had my K9P since late 2021, no real issues so far, tbf i've never tested DAC out, only HP and Preamp. Software seems to be something that many chinese companies struggle with to this day, that is an area where they should be investing in heavily.

Excellent, the best i've personally come across in the IEM world. Very lightweight shell, suitable for small ear canals. -1 Point for the default cable, but not a big heal honestly.

The Hane are better suited for people with a small ear canal, the nozzle size is smaller than that of Truthear models. They can comfortably be worn for multiple hours on end, with the only downside being the microphonic cable.

I'm not using Apple products, so i can't comment on the airpods, but other buds (galaxy buds) were inferior in terms of comfort and usability (charging, EQ). From my understanding it seems that full airpod functionality is limited to Apple devices, so it is not an option for many people.

I hate headphones, they are too bulky for me. IEMs are very practical, especially the Hane are perfect for 8+ hrs sessions. One can drive them off a small USB dongle with PEQ, the entire setup (including non-microphonic cable) is less than 300$ (as much as apple buds pro and much less than...

I've had 2 pairs of these since release. They've replaced every other IEM in my collection, because they are by far the most comfortable IEM's i've ever used. The only minor issue is the cable, if you are used to soft silicone cables you might want to replace it with a less microphonic alternative.

KA15 is the only FiiO dongle i'd consider right now, its marginally more expensive but a much better package overall. Edit: (I own KA5/13/15/17)

As a KA15 owner, software seems to be the bane of FiiO. The control app is insulting, the initial KA15 firmware had its quirks. If they dedicate to giving the KA15 some further improvements, i can definitly see it becoming the go-to usb dongle, simply for its price/features.

Any modern phone with a dongle is an upgrade. Just get a cheap phone (which will still receive 4 yrs of guaranteed updates), this "phone" is like most of the other daps basically e-waste after a year. I don't trust moondrop to come out with a "good" smarthpone first attempt, especially after...

I don't see the point of this. It will not replace your main phone, a dongle is more convenient than 2 phones, it will launch with an outdated OS and most likely won't receive further major upgrades.

@JimmyKing I've reverse engineered the regular moondrop dawn controls (i.e. the moondrop link app, see here). The communication is done over the control endpoint (0). If the free dsp is supported by moondrop link, you can reverse engineer it via jadx and build your own software based on it like...

There is no point in chasing the best. I've owned too expensive IEM's that are not worth it, imho you can stay below 100$ nowadays and get very decent IEMs

I've gone ahead and ordered it, should be getting it in a week or so. FiiO provided measurements look good enough, and there's a low chance someone else will actually measure it in a review i guess.

They have published measurements, including the SINAD. Looks good to me, seems like the perfect (pricy) AIO package. Also i'd really like FiiO to send stuff to Amir for reviewing, would add a lot more credibility.

I can recommend the FiiO JD7, top tier tuning, lightweight small shell with very high build quality (compared to many other sub 100$ IEMs). Only annoyance is the stock cable, its very stiff.

Volume can be controlled, EQ and filters are bluetooth only AFAIK. If you need EQ go with the RME.

Nothing surprising, Sony has done nothing about the glaring issues since i've gotten my Xperia Z in 2013 (The cam issues have been persisting since 2012/2013). I would not recommend a Sony phone to anyone in this current day and age, other companies are offering better products at lower prices...

I've had my K9 (AKM) for over a year now, no issues so far. The device gets warm, but it hasn't gotten so hot that i'd be worried about internal damage.
