Considering an upgrade. How much better would it be going from Klipsch R-620f to the RP-8000f in a full 5.1.2 system?

I'm honestly not sure how to read that, and can't find similar graphs on the r-620f to compare. What would you say there indicates it's not a significant step up? I've read repeatedly the the Reference Premiere series is much better than the Reference series, but it's hard to find any decent...

Considering an upgrade. How much better would it be going from Klipsch R-620f to the RP-8000f in a full 5.1.2 system?

My current home theater/listening space is a 5.1.2 setup in a long open plan (combined living/dining/kitchen space) that's 14' W x 30' L. Current equipment is: Sony STR-DH790 receiver Klipsch R-620f tower front L/R Klipsch RC-62 ii Center Dayton T652-Air tower surrounds Dayton B652-Air heights...

What's improved on it in this case? Looks like the same model I already have. Did they change something internally?

Tube lifespan in a tube chip-amp?

Just curious, what's the lifespan of a tube before I should replace it? And are there any indications when a tube should be replaced? I've been using an Aiyima T9 for daily listening for the last nine months and not sure at what point the tubes may need replacing, since it doesn't work without...

    How well do you hear?

Listened to the tonal range at https://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator. Strange... I can hear all the way up to 19.5 KHz, but I have some volume loss from 14 KHz, and an odd sort of dead zone between 15.5 KHz and 16.7 KHz where I can't hear anything, and then can hear the tones again as it...

    Aiyima T9

If you have a compatible player/UPnP server, set up ReplayGain. I noticed the same, the lowest volume on the T9 is actually rather high for quiet listening by default. Impressive, but I don't want loud. I've added Replaygain info to my entire library using Foobar2000 to scan per album, then I...

    Confused Newbie

Regardless which speaker you go with, placement matters, and might possibly make the Boreas sound better. I won't scare you away with the crazy room frequency modeling tools (I'm not even down the rabbit hole enough to care about that), but Soundton has a pretty useful 2D room placement...

Odd Speaker Stand: Tensegrity Speaker Floor Stand by VIVO

I generally love VIVO products (I swear by their TV and monitor mounts, and they also make the sit-stand legs and brace for my office desk), but I'm not sure about this one. Really cool design, but generally for a speaker stand you want something dampening vibration. I imagine this being more...

    Aiyima T9

Anybody actually have the T9 Pro and the T9 (or Douk ST-01) to compare? Is there any real difference in sound quality with them, given the changes at the OP Amp? I imagine with the same chipset they sound similar, but would be curious to hear about anecdotal experience.

    Aiyima T9

I wouldn't stress about it, these chips should be able to handle some heat no problem, and there are some vents on the sides of the case. You can see them in the video above, here's a screenshot from it: The entire chassis is metal, so I assume the unit itself is acting as one big heatsink...

Adjusting Speaker+Sub as a single unit

Do you have the subwoofer set to LFE? If you're connecting it up to a receiver this way, that's expected, otherwise I think the sub is controlled at its own volume dial. I could be wrong though, and it could be an odd quirk of your specific receiver. I can't say I've ever encountered something...

Monoprice vs Polk or Klipsch in walls? Not many people recommending those brands recently. Are we just not a fan of the quality?

My fronts are the r-620f towers and my center is the RC-62 II. It's all part of a 5.1.2 setup. The surrounds are my old Dayton T-652-AIRs and the heights are B652-AIRs. They're AMT instead of horn, but all fairly bright speakers and blend well enough. I just wanted to make sure the fronts and...

Monoprice vs Polk or Klipsch in walls? Not many people recommending those brands recently. Are we just not a fan of the quality?

I'm partial to Klipsch, but only if you're in a larger space. Horn tweeters will cause massive ear fatigue in a smaller room. I have Klipsch in my living room and love them, though not familiar with any sort of in-wall setup.

Nearfield + big room = big subwoofer?

Generally with nearfield listening, IMO it's best to keep the subwoofer centered between the speakers or in a nearby corner. You don't need to crank it up because you're close and it doesn't really need to fill the room in the same way. Ideally it should just blend into the main speakers, making...

Aiyima T9 - Does the bass control basically double as direct subwoofer control?

Nah, this isn't a home theater setup, just a 2.1 speaker setup. Thing is I wonder if it's treated as such because the sub doesn't have high level inputs, and same goes for the T9, it plugs in via 3.5 to RCA mono. I dunno. The sub only has a low pass, but I don't know if setting is is actually...

How and where do you listen music

Technically my main setup is a 5.1.2 in my living room, but I do most of my listening during the workday or when I'm exercising in my office on my 2.1 setup in there. I split my time relatively evenly between the living room and office setup, but in the living room it's usually more just...

Aiyima T9 - Does the bass control basically double as direct subwoofer control?

Been playing around with my new subwoofer (Jamo S808) on my Aiyima T9 (paired with Wharfedale Diamond 220s) and no matter what I set it at it sounded kinda off like the sub and the speakers wouldn't blend quite right. I tried dialing the sub in at multiple points between 60 Hz all the way up to...

    Hi-Fi vs. Audio

Same. I don't have thousands and thousands to spend on a truly "hi-fi" system, but I love music and appreciate good sounding gear. Plus reading about and discussing the gear is cool too. They might be on the lower end of things technically, but I really enjoy my Klipsches and Wharfedales. At the...

Any drawbacks to having the port facing up on a ported subwoofer?

Ah, to that, bear in mind, it's a controlled space (my office), no kids or pets (well, no pets yet) so no concerns of things being dropped in, and the port isn't facing up per se. Bass port is on the bottom rear when standing "as intended," I currently have it tipped on its side so the port is...

Any drawbacks to having the port facing up on a ported subwoofer?

I've recently got a fairly cheap subwoofer in my office setup, speakers are Wharfedale Diamond 220s and the sub is a Jamo S808. It's outputting via an Aiyima T9. I'm just wondering what benefits and drawbacks there are to having the subwoofer's port (not speaker, it's bass ported) facing up or...
