Meridian inversion PEQ method - comments or caveats?

@UliBru might want to comment and share some of his knowledge as well

Balanced phono wiring with starquad configuration

Well - there are some, and it makes sense to use the best wiring when using them.

$20-25k budget. Currently eyeing Genelec 8361A, KEF Blade One Meta, and the B&W 801D4.

How would you characterize the difference between KH420 and 1237A? And what's about the 1238A vs 1237A?

Balanced phono wiring with starquad configuration

Thank you @John_Siau for posting this nice demonstration, bringing back into my mind why I purchased Mogami Neglex 2534 a couple of years ago: Used it for my active speakers - where it may not be really necessary, depending on ones Installation... However - using this cable for my custom...

Any Clock Sync Issue for using RME ADI-2/4 Pro SE as crossover ?

The OctoDAC also might be worth a look. Offers XO, PEQ and delay functionality with it's latest firmware, however, requires configuration per config file (no easy to use GUI).

Any Clock Sync Issue for using RME ADI-2/4 Pro SE as crossover ?

I would not use the RME ADI-2 Pro as a crossover. It has very limited PEQ functionality for this use case, and no delay. I am using a Fireface UFX II which offers Room EQ (12 PEQ plus delay). Works great, however, is not the most convenient solution and requires knowledge to operate it...

Classic Audio MC Pro Phonostage Review

Very "british" humor... @Michael Fidler are you indeed considering phasing the MC Pro out? Will there be a new product introduced for low output MC cartridges? E.g. a "MC Pro II" with balanced inputs?

    Better sound vs better experience?

Speaking of myself, knowledge has given me indeed more satisfaction and certainty with my hobby. I am less "searching" for "better components" and not believing in any marketing (bullshit) any more. Instead I am using my time to learn how to optimize bass reproduction with multisub setups and...

    Better sound vs better experience?

If you like the sound of your system, do not change it, do not try to "optimze" but simply enjoy the music. If the technical aspect is also part of your hobby, well, ASR is probably the start of an interesting journey... Enjoy this as well and keep learning. Ignorance is NOT bliss.

Seeking Guidance for a “Good Enough” HiFi Setup in livingroom.

With professional companies like Neumann and Genelec you likely get repairs of and spare parts for active speakers for a long time. I am not so sure about Kef.

Best approach to EQing and Dirac DSP?

You still don't understand. I am not talking about acoustic measurement of the room/loudspeaker setup, but about measurement of the Dirac filter curve applied by the MiniDSP DSP pipeline (measurement via USB digital in -> digital out).

Best approach to EQing and Dirac DSP?

Hi, this is not what I meant to say. You can measure the frequency response of your MiniDSP with Master volume at 0dB and all EQs disabled (digital in - digital out) and then again with Dirac filters enabled and - let's say -10dB master volume. You will exactly see the Dirac filter curve and...

Best approach to EQing and Dirac DSP?

You can simply do a full sweep with REW, using USB connection. Without correction and with Dirac filters applied. Then it should be clear how much attenuation is required at a minimum. I personally would also attenuate the source by 3dB to mitigate the risk of intersample overs in the MiniDSP...

Best approach to EQing and Dirac DSP?

This will likely not be sufficient, as the MiniDSP does not show true peak volume but RMS volume only. There is a high risk of clipping when you are close to 0dBFS. Better attenuate the master volume by 9dB, as 9dB AFAIK is the max. boost Dirac applies in its MiniDSP implementation. I asked...

Best approach to EQing and Dirac DSP?

I personally would stop correcting at about 300-500 Hz upwards and let Dirac handle the bass correction only. Never liked Dirac full correction in my untreated unsymmetrical living room. Btw. I also never liked Acourate full correction. Sounds liveless and boring.

New Neumann MA 1 - Automatic Monitor Alignment

Hi @DJBonoBobo, very interesting, thank you. In your comparison, are both subs mono or assigned to left and right channel each? I am driving my subs (KH810) mono, one at the front wall and one at the back wall. Thinking about adding a third one (KH750), replacing the KH810 with KH750 and am...

New Neumann MA 1 - Automatic Monitor Alignment

Is it possible in the meantime - with this new update - to use a multisub setup in a stereo system and let MA-1 manage the subs (like DLBC, Harman ARCOS or manually by using multisub optimizer)?

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

Hi Dave, with "if it works" I refer to the issues an earlier firmware caused, where Minidsp moved the master volume prior to the ASRC which caused very loud static, cracks and pops for some users. Minidsp then pulled back this firmware...

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

IMO Minidsp should really change their policy of not announcing any developments at all. With someone like me as customers, this "no-communication" hurts their business. I cannot speak for others of course... I like WiiMs policy of sharing feature development roadmaps much better.
