Need Rec's - Flattest, accurate, NO dsp, speaker for mixing/mastering.

Hysterical. (given I'm sitting in front of Kii3's) Digital input of this new Generation of monitors does not bypass their internal eq algo. So we end up eq'ing (trinnov) - something that already has a lot of dsp eq on it. Much rather have a zero processed speaker - and let the trinnov do its...

Need Rec's - Flattest, accurate, NO dsp, speaker for mixing/mastering.

Not excluding studio speakers - just open to speakers that don't cross our radar in the studio world. Both PSI and Geithain are on the list to try! But hoping to find a great tested speaker that is more affordable as ATMOS is unhappily in my wallets future ....... ;)

Need Rec's - Flattest, accurate, NO dsp, speaker for mixing/mastering.

I've owned a ton of great speakers over the years (yeah, I'm pretty old). ATC's (25's , 150's,) Currently on Kii 3. LOVE all of them for what each did well. but ..... Currently looking outside of "studio world" for the flattest, non-DSP, speakers. Small set and/or large set - with the expected...

    Strauss SE-NF-3

ATC crossover is a fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley type, with hinge points at 380Hz and 3.5kHz. Are they active in that they are self powered? They don't use a DSP crossover, which is what Jurgen is talking about. I say that with as many ???? as possible. thoughts?

Passive 2 way - front ported (or sealed). What DIY model or brand model do you love? (flat response)

Not looking for CHEAP. but can't swing 13 ATC scm20s. The used market is a good idea - but which speaker? thanks!

Passive 2 way - front ported (or sealed). What DIY model or brand model do you love? (flat response)

Looking for the best sounding, flattest 2 way passive speaker I can find. Likely a DIY design using great drivers. Building out an atmos mixing room and would like to avoid the usual studio monitors that are price-point builds. 13 speakers so keeping costs down is big - thus DIY is likely...

    Kii THREE Review

ATC 150's plus trinnov in a well treated room would be my pick for most deeply detailed, accurate monitor, given enough space for them. But that's a guess as Trinnov wasn't a consideration when I had my large mastering room, and now I don't. (150's have been in storage for 5 years now). 8c's...

    Erins Kii THREE review/measurements

Agree with this Kii3 review also. I had the Kii's, 8c's, Gen 8351A, in my room for about 2 weeks, along with my ATC 150's. The new room I was moving to wasn't big enough for my 150's so I started a quest for the most accurate, best translating speakers. Kii's become my new speaker and are still...

    Kii THREE Review

FWIW - I had the Kii3 and 8C in my room, at the same time for about two weeks and agree with this assessment. When comparing recordings that were done in rooms that I know well, The Kii's sounded like those rooms while the 8C's had just a bit of coloration to them. Just an unnatural midrange...
