Genelec 8341A SAM™ Studio Monitor Review

Yes sorry I forget about the subs. Without the subs I think they would be quite a bit less also I add a generous +5dB slope to the base.

Decision between Genelec 8351B and 8341 , existing pair of subs

Not after you hear them. You’ll realize soon that closer sounds better. From the quick mental math I did you’d be closer to the back wall than the actual speakers. Which is not optimal for what these are designed for.

Genelec 8341A SAM™ Studio Monitor Review

Okay now I get it. I can easily 107dB from 1 meter so I have to wonder what sort of SPL issues he had. Okay I won’t say easily. That’s about the limit where I sit around 107dB.

    Snake Oil Department, Top This

You might have a point. Claims 10Kw maximum input power. But I wonder does it need 240v or 3 phase power. A regular 110v outlet will trip past 1875w.

    Genelec 8351B Teardown (2nd Disassembled)

They spent years working out the interface between the mid driver cone and the mount. That kind of work doesn’t come free. It’s like saying why is this CPU $400 it’s just melted sand.
