Moved to Soundcloud. Also have a new work in progress track "Quasi-Jazz 1" The mix is a bit annoying to me on Quasi-Jazz 1 - especially on the saxophone - I'm a bit stuck on it.

Bass Bins + Crossover for March Sointuva to Scanspeak Revelator13"

Thanks for the great discussion. My only reason for passive crossover approach was so as to not waste my speaker amp's potential on just my bookshelf speakers (which only handle maybe 1/2 the power available). However, you've successfully dissuaded me from this. I'll go back to original plan...

Bass Bins + Crossover for March Sointuva to Scanspeak Revelator13"

Huh - the Flex can input a speaker level signal and split it!? If this is true . . . is there anything that thing can't do!? I had been going to use a Flex as a USB DAC with DSP - but this is a new thing I didn't know it could do.

Bass Bins + Crossover for March Sointuva to Scanspeak Revelator13"

Thanks for your advice. I will go for 2.5 cu. ft. However - what if I want to power the bass bins from my speaker amp? Since I have such a powerful amp, it may as well drive the bass units as well as speakers. (Instead of getting plate amps.) Is there a product, or would I need to design my...

Bass Bins + Crossover for March Sointuva to Scanspeak Revelator13"

I have 2x March Sointuva WG and 2x Scanspeak Revelator 13" drivers and a high wattage power amp (DIY Neurochrome). Originally I was going to build 2 sealed subs ( https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/scanspeak-revelator-13-subs.47653/ ) Now I wish to build 2 bass bins to...

Full range - March/BMR/DIYsub (read all before voting)

I am very grateful you suggested this bass bin idea - it is exactly what I want to do now. Would you recommend I start a new thread on ASR's DIY section for some specific advice from users?

Full range - March/BMR/DIYsub (read all before voting)

Very interesting. Is this exactly the same design as a subwoofer but with inputs driven by my speaker amp? My amp has two of these boards: https://neurochrome.com/products/modulus-686 (240Wpc at 8 Ohm ; 360Wpc at 4 Ohm) In this bass bin case, would I be able to do all my DSP via Equalizer APO...

Productions that are Puzzling to You

Regarding: Tommy James & The Shondells Subjectively: 40 Years (1966-2006) The Complete Singles Collection (2008 compilation CD) Way too much midbass. Crimson & Clover / Cellophane Symphony (1991 CD) Too much midbass and has that "cloudy untransparent quality" I think you mean - just gets on...

Full range - March/BMR/DIYsub (read all before voting)

Hi - I have March Sointuva WG (v2) speakers. I love/enjoy them but would like extension down to 20Hz and below. I have 3 options: 1 - I own 2x Scanspeak Revelator 32W/4878T00 subwoofer drivers. Make two passive DIY subs with these. Use with Sointuva. 2 - Sell Sointuva (I know someone who...

MiniDSP Flex HTx Measurement (FW1.1.17 Update)

I asked MiniDSP about this last year, they said: "[Regarding] Linux, we don't support it for the control software (device console) but it's typically a step done once. i.e. at setup. Once you've done that on your PC/Mac, you can connect the USB cable to your own linux box and it will be showing...

Wow, thank you that is great news I'll just get a stereo amp !

    Amps with Parallel Function

Rather than having two amps to drive my two DIY passive subs, I'd prefer to have a single amp which can power two subs with combined stereo->mono. I have found: - Crown XLi series - which has a Parallel mode - Paradigm X-850 - which presumably does this (as opposed to L + R) I haven't built...

First measurements in REW (March Sointuva)

I just tried my Sointuva's on my old stands (substantially higher stands) and with blu-tack under. In the first place I happened to try them, I got epic results. Green line is with REW's EQ applied through Equalizer APO; Red line is before EQ. Yes - it sounds much better - finally. I had done...

Upon trying again, I agree. The HDAD is too dark sounding.

    Headphone amplifier with miniDSP Flex?

Hi - I thank you hugely for this diagram from the post of yours you linked - it is very similar to what I had devised in my mind, except seeing it visually makes it much clearer, and I had not realised the Topping L50 can passthrough when off. That's a golden find. Your post should have 100...

    Worst movie ever?

To add to my previous list something much worse. I didn't want to watch this but someone else was watching it near me. $4ltbur/\/ By a long way the worst trash I've ever seen. Previous list:

    ScanSpeak Revelator 13" subs

I appreciate your thoughts highly, thank you. My "logic" for a high power amp is two thoughts: 1 - Suppose I'm listening at (arbitrary) 5 Watts most of the time. There could be some peak at (arbitrary) 400 Watts for a millisecond. 2 - With inevitable EQ boosts to the lowest frequencies, this...
