    Bridged amp wattage?

On the back of my receiver it says minimum 8 ohm speakers. Difference per region?

    Bridged amp wattage?

Too bad - it can be hooked only with minimum 8 ohm speakers.

    Bridged amp wattage?

So therotically bridge mode can be 200W for this receiver? That makes it a good mono!

    Bridged amp wattage?

This receiver uses 2 pairs of 100W power transistors each channel which I think is overkill for normal mode.

    Bridged amp wattage?

There is a switch on the back with normal and bridge modes.

    Bridged amp wattage?

Got a Rotel RX-855 receiver recently. It's 50 wpc/8 ohm and bridgeable, but spec didn't mention wattage when in bridge mode. BTW, this receiver use a lot of cheap Jamicon electrolytic caps. Quite a few of them get bulged so I replaced all Jamicons on the main board.

    What are they used for?

C channel doesn't have the zenner diode as well but it's emitter resistor is the same as L, R channels.

    What are they used for?

Many Yamaha receivers/amplifiers designed with bias current not adjustable. Their service manual just mentions to cut open a certain resister if bias is out of range.

    What are they used for?

Thanks all and more questions. 1. This receiver uses 3W 0.22 ohm as emitter resistor for L,R and C channels (See photo and R46 in the 1st snipshot) but uses 5W 0.22 ohm (R47 in the 2nd snipshot) for all 4 surround channels. Why L, R, C channels use resistors with lower wattage rate? 2...

    What are they used for?

Below is from Yamaha RX-V757. What are D254 and R265 used for? They are on L, R channels. Center and 4 surround channels are the same as L, R channels except for a resistor and zenner between bases of output transtors.

    Luxman R-117

I don't feel they're bass heavy, especially in low volume.

    Luxman R-117

Do dynaudio speakers always come with woofers having short stroke? I had my DM 2/6 hooked with JVC R-S77 receiver and the speakers pop noises when having loudness on (volume is only at 1/3). R-S77 is only rated 60 wpc.

    Luxman R-117

Thanks. Was it hot when driving 4 ohm speakers?

    Luxman R-117

Can Luxman R-117 safely drive 4ohm speakers? It's spec said 8-16 ohm speakers. It uses 2 pairs of C3281/A1302 as output transistors on each channel.

    VA vs Wattage

Holes are original. Actually there're 6 holes :

    VA vs Wattage

Yamaha had a warning on A-760 for 220-240v regions - A capacitor may cause fire.

    VA vs Wattage

I know that VA ratting is bigger than wattage, but why huge difference in this amp:

    JVC R-S77 Receiver

This is the only receiver/amplifier I ever saw that the power switch is controlling secondary side of the transformer. It consumes 8 watts after power-off.

4x10,000uf filter caps on power rail for +5v

It's from Yamaha RX-V1200. Don't understand why Yamaha uses such huge filter caps on power rail for regulated +5v (Two 7805). See C212, 213, 220 & 221. Even 16,800uf for regulated -5v seems too much.
