    Topping PA7 Plus Amplifier Review

If you are using for stereo audio listening or are interested in going to separates from your integrated setup, I would say it's a good upgrade. A large part of audio hardware is about looks and matching components. I upgraded from an a/b amp to this amp and it did remove some discernable...

    Topping PA7 Plus Amplifier Review

I have it hooked up to a power strip without a smart plug. I don't need a smart plug since it triggers on from its inputs. I doubt it consumes much power in idle state but probably more than a simple DAC. Even the PA7 indicator light is off when in idle. I'd be mildy curious to find out.

    Topping E70 Stereo DAC Review

Are these topping updates needed if the DAC is never connected to a Windows PC? Mine is only ever connected to a wiim and a CD player.

    Topping PA7 Plus Amplifier Review

Thanks. I added a cd player and vu meter recently as well that tracks both digital sources. I also built another diy stand. I'm happy with the setup.

    Topping PA7 Plus Amplifier Review

Did you bypass volume control meaning did you hit the switch in the back that negates the volume pot? I keep my volume at 12 and control volume with an E70 preamp/DAC.

    VU Meters: Let's See 'Em!!

Ali express analog vu meter. $100. I got it working with RCAs to my topping E70. Getting it to trigger on and off required some (for me) out of the box thinking but it now works like a charm now. However it does not work with my turntable but CD and streaming is the majority of my listening...

    Topping PA7 Plus Amplifier Review

My early release PA7 is functioning fine. It triggers on from an E70 and I keep it at 12 o'clock on the volume dial and if the e70 is at 0 db then with my speakers I can hit 86 db peaks. Which is plenty loud in my room. Does it get hot? Yes, if played for more than a short period. It's...

    Topping E70 Stereo DAC Review

Has anyone split the 12v trigger out on the E70 to turn on multiple devices? I'm curious if it can manage the load of at least two devices. Not sure that topping notes this information or how to measure independently.

    Topping E70 Stereo DAC Review

Thanks! Strange that SVS would high pass the RCA outs. Probably will still give it a try since I can fall back to using the DACs outputs.

    Topping E70 Stereo DAC Review

SVS SB 1000 hooked up via speaker level connection. Appreciate the insight.... I'm leaning towards it's not going to work but as you point out it's all about what going on inside the box.

    Topping E70 Stereo DAC Review

It might make more sense to use the RCA outputs from my subwoofer if I wanted the VU meter to capture the signal from non digital sources i.e. turntable. I'm not sure if the crossover in the sub effects the RCA output signal? In other words would the VU meter only read signals below 80hz if...

    Topping E70 Stereo DAC Review

I got the VU meter fever. Any issues using the E70 RCA output simultaneously with the XLRs outputting to my PA7 to run this VU meter from Ali express? Will the VU meter read the RCA output with any degree of accuracy? There are adjustment knobs on the back of the VU meter.

    Topping E70 Stereo DAC Review

It has balanced and RCA outputs to choose from. I had an e30 and now use the e70 in my main system. They are both transparent DACs. For PCM files doubt you could ever reliably tell the difference but the e70 is obviously more premium with more features.

    Audioengine N22 Amplifier Review

Yea so the combo makes for an arguably passable listening experience but the amp or speaker alone, are both failing.

I found this measurement for the P4s. I wonder what the combined measurement looks like.

    Audioengine N22 Amplifier Review

I actually still have this amp from over 8 years ago. Still works too. It's only ever been hooked up to the P4s and those speakers also have their issues to put it kindly. All of that said, this setup is what got me back into the hobby. Nowadays, the combo serves basement duty as part of my...

    Topping PA7 Plus Amplifier Review

I have the A130s in my theater setup backed by a couple SVS subs and can compare to the Diamond 12.1s in a music room with a single sub. I do prefer the Diamond 12.1s for music but they measure similar enough that room acoustics are probably more important than the speakers. We have Amir's...
