Ironically, I don't like those silver speakers at all. Reminds me of Vivid Audio, and not in a great way. At least they're plugged in in the first picture.
The sleeker, non symmetric lines of the previous speakers come across to me as both refined and interesting at the same time.
Fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) fans are generally the longest lasting. As far as I know, Noctua have used this type of bearing for years in their fans, and they've recently released a new implementation of this type of bearing (the SSO2) which promises improved longevity.
If your fans develop...
I don't mind the cable of cabled IEMs when I game, as long as I can disconnect their cable easily when needed. I have been thinking of trying the Moondrop Little White though. It should have enough battery for longer sessions, and should be rechargable whilst playing if need be. Currently with...
I have no relevant personal experience, but being in the tech industry I have been unable to escape the news that Portugal is a popular destination for "digital nomads". These digital nomads are not very popular with the locals in affected neighbourhoods because the relative massive income of...
Audio is not always intuitive, I too intuit that more drivers equals less IMD but I haven't seen any proof of that.
@amirm I've asked before, but would it be possible to add multitone measurements to your IEM test suite? I would assume IMD would show up on such a test, if it is possible to do...
If it is a clone of the Cadenza it is probably quite all right in my opinion. The Cadenza are comfortable in my opinion, I really like the smaller, smooth shell. The sound profile is more or less what I want my IEMs to be, but unfortunately I perceive them as very siblant no matter what tips I...
To each their own, but it is hardly the only thing I listen to (for example, Ane Brun is in my library). It was just an example of a song where without EQ, the upper bass was too hot for at least my tastes.
I agree with Curupira in that busy metal tracks make for good test tracks. And Victory...
Whenever I read descriptions like detail, imaging, resolution and separation I wonder how these things could be measured. My pet hypothesis is that the frequency response could be an answer, where descriptions such as detail and resolution probably can be found more often for IEMs with more...
That line of thinking is veering into NFT territory, which thankfully is something that the internet seems to have wisened up to.
Just stay out of crypto unless it speaks to your ideologies. There is nothing to be gained from it.
Nowhere in Europe is that far away from europeans really. I'd be happy to take part in a blind test conducted by ASR members even if it isn't next doors.
Any other takers?
Not going to argue with your reasoning at all, but for the record - the Okto works well using non Windows operating systems.
Best of luck to you @Daverz, I have been thinking of getting a MK5 for the inputs (for things like measurements and room EQ). The Ultralite beats the Okto in that...
Disappointing perhaps yes, but at this point I think all Okto fans are quite used to their delays unfortunately.
@mdsimon2 have you heard anything as to when we may expect a multiplatform updater? If Oktos position is 'never' I might put some effort into plugging the DAC8Pro into one of my...
I paired them with some fairly beefy monoblocks (Hypex NC400) and a nondescript Onkyo stereo receiver. The speakers sounded exactly the same to me, not sure what the last few posters are on about to be honest. The Onkyo didn't go very loud.
What does this even mean? The DBR-62s sound great, just as they did a few years ago, even if the measurements might not indicate perfection. They're not flawless, but the flaws they do have are subjectively (in other words, to me) not big. They sound better with subs, most standmounts do.
For...
