To be honest, I'm not feeling any Chinese-sourced DAC type systems after my experience with MiniDSP, so Topping is pretty much out. The other solution is $2K and doesn't seem to be 2.1 ready, so I'm not seeing that as a real winner either to be honest. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Hmm, the UItra is the only one that would seem to fit the bill. It has a lot of wasted/duplicated functionalities I don't really need, like the screen and streaming capabilities I would probably never use because it's easier to use the Mac versions. It does have inbuilt room correction though...
