    Denon AVR-X3500H AVR Review

I have the worst measuring DAC and one of the best measuring DAC. My casual ears can't tell any difference.

Why Are Ported Speakers the Dominant Design?

Ported is generally superior to sealed for music sound quality. Higher efficiency, lower distortion, and/or higher output. None of the measurable advantages of sealed are audible compared to a properly designed port. Advantage of sealed is a smaller box or when you want extremely deep extension...

Review and Measurements of NAD T758 V3 AVR

I have miniDSP SHD and NAD 758 V3. They sound identical with my Gelenec 8341's. I would recommend upgrading your room acoustics or speakers first. Those are by far the greatest sources of distortion in a system.

    Genelec good enough?

I'm planning to do NAD 758 V3 -> miniDSP SHD or SHD studio -> Genelecs while waiting for Monoprice HTP-1 measurements

Kali Audio Appears to Be Releasing a Coaxial Speaker (NAMM video featuring Charles Sprinkle)

There is no compression problem. They are designed to be used at around 2m listening distance.

    Genelec good enough?

JBL does 50% deals for their 705P/708P speakers. But don't expect any discounts for Genelec or Neumann gear.

    Genelec good enough?

It's not just peak SPL, but how much distortion there is at a given output level. That KEF model is a monster with 2x10" bass drivers, 2x6.5" lower midrange, 6.5" midrange, and 1" tweeter.

Kali Audio Appears to Be Releasing a Coaxial Speaker (NAMM video featuring Charles Sprinkle)

IDK what constant directivity means if it can be used to describe design principle of F228Be.

    Genelec good enough?

The 8050 can't compete. KEF Model 4 has way higher dynamic capabilities. You'd need to look at models like the 8361, S360, and 1237.

Kali Audio Appears to Be Releasing a Coaxial Speaker (NAMM video featuring Charles Sprinkle)

Lots of near field studio monitors have wide dispersion that won't work well if you're sitting far away.

Genelec Global Launch Event - Facebook livestream today at 19:00 GMT

What do you mean? Group delay of 8351B looks lower to me.

Recommendation: Adam S3V vs JBL LSR 708P

Sorry should have reworded that. I meant that the room acoustics and placement will bottleneck speaker performance. I would prioritize WAF and dynamics for this use case.

Recommendation: Adam S3V vs JBL LSR 708P

I'd demo the KEF R11. With this room, placement, and seating position, speakers like the S3V are going to perform much worse than their potential.

Gaming speaker recommendations for small room?

What crossover did you use? Frequency and slope? Hearing the subs is definitely concern for me, considering the LS50 bass extension.

Gaming speaker recommendations for small room?

Room is 11x11x9 feet. I think listening distance will be around 4-5 feet. Setup will mainly be used for gaming and movies. I ordered Klipsch RP-600M and KEF LS50 to try out, but was curious what other options to consider? Budget is around $500/speaker. I'd prefer to stick with passive speakers.

Review and Measurements of NAD T758 V3 AVR

Pushing manufacturers to make better products is great. But seems like folks here care more about measurements than sound quality for their own purchase decisions. Almost like it is an idealogical choice. I see similar obsession with directivity graphs. The measurements aren't pretty, but I...
