This one, you have mentioned "Audinst HUD-DX1" I do not know, but I assumed its not combo ESS9039/XU-316, ergo... For me similar / older setup is mainly used in that case PC / DAC /AMP. If I understand you correctly that is. Tho for me its mainly music, very seldom some older FPS.

What is this "crac;kling stuff"? XU-316 / ESS9039Pro is top combo, If there is any problem, at all it would be simply fixed by firmware upgrade. If its not correct, pls correct me.

Are you sure? Its seems AO300 shared DAC with AL200? Correct me, if I'm mistaken. Anyhu AO300 seems like a winner in this price class as AIO and I mean truly AIO, which in this case it is. Edited: Thanx @Zek

@flywood was kind enough to direct my attention into D40 pro earlier. Considerning what I have read in D40 pro topic, its not "copy / past" at full spectrum, additionally problematic firmware upgrade, at least one user bricked, ergo.... Thanx for your reply. I did not think it's that way...
