As far as i understand, the Toslink input of the UCX II supports up to 8 channels. I have not tried this though. In theory, HDMI splitters exist, but the problems here are DRM and/or decoding. What do you mean with consumer devices? I use RCA -> 6.3mm unbalanced cables.

Yes, if you activate the preview feature "Use mono system layout": LCR (3.0) is not supported, so it won´t work with or without multichannel license. You´ll have to calibrate two setups, a) center as mono and b) LR as stereo system.
