Find it surprisingly difficult to get sufficient info about those Asus »ProArt« machines. Can it be that they are not (yet) sold in Europe, at a noteworthy scale?

The least Mac mini variant I would accept is 1044 Euros. Plus two monitors, keyboard, mouse, some external SSD etc etc I may easily reach the 2000 Euros margin – which would be OK as such. Not OK would be installing my Adobe Dimension to the Mac mini then, just to find out that the renderings...

Well ... To choose a machine that would clearly, undeniably and undoubtedly be a top Mac machine would push me towards the Mac Pro range – and to starting prices way above 8000 Euros.

Thanks for all your input! Actually I don’t care about laptop’s or other mobile devices’ specs or comparisons at this point. What I am looking for is a »classical« desktop machine. Your input helps me a lot to reach a decision, and I feel it is going to favour a Windows solution eventually...

Will by chance be someone around here who owns an iMac, Mac mini or a Mac Studio with Adobe Dimension installed and who could do a rendering for me, do give me some sort of a benchmark value for any of those Macs?

Seems, that an M2 Mac Studio with 2 TB SSD plus two new monitors, keyboard and mouse would quite easily cross the 4k Euro margin. My wife won’t ever forgive me.

Well, I’d guess the standard(?) 96 dpi would be quite OK. Is that of any importance regarding my choice?

24" would be just fine with me. Crucial point is that I’d need the possibility to connect and to drive a second monitor.

On my job, before retirement, I was working with Macs for decades, but those were the pro beasts, like Power Mac, and even Sun Sparc-stations. Maybe I am bit spoiled with that history. Will have a look at the M4 Mac Mini nevertheless :cool:

Well, that is kind of weird. I did not get a Mac Mini M4 a week ago, although I definitely crossed over to the dark side about nearly a month ago or so.

I really find it difficult not to wish them bad things then.
