    This is awesome.

    Moving to separates...I think.

That is all good man, thank you. The Parasound P6 really fit the bill with exception of the depth. I loved the idea of having a high pass filter for analog bass management. The minidsp is certainly intriguing. Hard to track the outputs on this unit. I'm assuming I can use a single...

Sorry good catch. That was misleading since I need a subwoofer out.

This is interesting. I need to read up. Could I turn off the DRC on the analog in for my TT but use it for streaming?

    Moving to separates...I think.

Good ideas here but not seeing a solution for my subwoofer in either scenario.

Rotel RC-1572 MKII may be an option. Still looking for more suggestions!

    Moving to separates...I think.

I need 2 sets of analog inputs plus I already have a power amp.

I own everything in both the current and new. Hodgepodge of stuff from my home theater room that I’m not using. Yes, the equipment from the current is just part of the new.

    Phono Preamp XLR Out Distortion

The Gold Note PH-10 is gone. Went to a Manley Chinook and will be happy using RCAs. Never looking back...

    Moving to separates...I think.

Looking for some advice on a pre-amp to finish a conversion to separates for my 2.1 setup. I only listen to vinyl and stream via Tidal Connect. Current setup: Cambridge Audio Evo 150 integrated + Manley Chinook Phono preamp + SVS Micro 3000 New setup (so far): Auralic Altair G1.1 + NAD M22 V2...

    Phono Preamp XLR Out Distortion

Cambridge confirmed XLR sensitivity is 700mV on Evo150 and XLR max gain 34dB. Thoughts? I’m not sure how to evaluate vs the PH-10.

    Phono Preamp XLR Out Distortion

Sorry you’re right. I’ll reach out to Cambridge to confirm.

    Phono Preamp XLR Out Distortion

Interesting point on the Cambridge thread. Says the EVO 150 input sensitivity is 1.5 V. The Gold Note PH-10 references 2 V when using the RCAs vs 4 V when using the XLRs. Overloading is likely the problem huh.

    Phono Preamp XLR Out Distortion

I’m plugging into the XLR input on my Cambridge Audio EVO 150 integrated. Could you share the link please?

    Phono Preamp XLR Out Distortion

No distortion when I’m using RCA to RCA and the XLRs aren’t plugged in. Yes I get distortion when I’m using XLR to XLR and the RCAs aren’t plugged in. This is the same level of distortion I pick up when I’m using RCA to RCA but the XLRs are also plugged in (and not being utilized).

    Phono Preamp XLR Out Distortion

Sorry I know that was a little confusing. Let me try it another way. I thought it was strange that when I have the source on my Integrated selected to Analog In and using RCA to RCA, I'm picking up distortion if the XLR cable is plugged in but not but XLR is not selected as the source. I.e. I...

    Phono Preamp XLR Out Distortion

Not sure if I'm following. I'm using a 3 pin male XLR to 3 pin female XLR to connect my Cambridge Audio EVO 150 to the Gold Note PH-10 (and previously my Parasound ZPhono XRM).

    Phono Preamp XLR Out Distortion

Yup totally strange the XLRs are causing distortion in the playback when I'm playing through the RCA input on my integrated (Cambridge Audio EVO 150 which has XLR inputs).

    Phono Preamp XLR Out Distortion

The Gold Note phono preamp is at it's lowest gain setting of -3 db which would equate to 42 db baseline, and there is still significant distortion. I took a short video for reference. The Gold Note manual doesn't reference a + 6 db for XLRs like the Parasound explicitly does; only a unbalanced...
