What pets have you had? Post pics of your pets, previous or now. Why do I love my pet so much?

It's kind of ugly but here it is. They have over time and through developing relationships, worked out a system to adopt unwanted puppy mill dogs that would have otherwise been disposed of, either because they can't be sold due to imperfections in the breed standard or females that can't have...

What pets have you had? Post pics of your pets, previous or now. Why do I love my pet so much?

We have had 3 German Shepherds throughout our 27 years of marriage. This past year has been the first without one. We now have two little dogs, a Japanese Chin and a Poochon, both from a local breeder rescue.

    Monolith Easel Style Speaker Stands

Correct, I didn't realize the top plate wasn't fixed until I took the speakers off. It was stable even with the heavy Wharfedale's on it.

    Monolith Easel Style Speaker Stands

I have the 18" version. They seem pretty sturdy, however, a big issue is the top plate is tightened in place with a center hex bolt, so it is possible if you don't have it snug, a speaker could tip off of it. I blue tacked my Aura 2's to them and when I tried to removed them I got the top...

    Rythmik E15 vs HSU ULS-15 MK2 / VTF-3 MK5 for below 20hz feel in large room.

The TN1 would be my suggestion as well for subs that have published data. I've had both the ULS-15 and VTF 3.5 plus about 25 different subs over the years. If you're looking for a one sub solution you'll have to stick with ported unless your budget can handle something like the JTR RS1. I...

Wharfedale Aura 2 review by ErinsAudioCorner

I unboxed the Revel M016 again and started listening to the Civil Wars "Poison and Wine" back to back against the Aura's. The Revels do male and female voices more naturally imo, the Aura's have an edge to them, I like piano and acoustic guitar on the Revels better too. If you like a more...

Wharfedale Aura 2 review by ErinsAudioCorner

Yeah, the stand price is dumb, more than the Elysian 2 stands. The Monolith stands I have now are fine for 1/10 the price. I've put the Aura 2 back in my main system after another week with the JBL Studio 680. I'm going to give them another week or two before I make my decision. I'm in no...

Wharfedale Aura 2 review by ErinsAudioCorner

In my living room they have no problem down to upper 30, low 40hz at decent levels, I like a good bass as much as the next guy and have no qualms running them without a sub for music. I played some demo material via Jazz Variants and Billie Eilish's NDA and they get very close to my cheaper...

Wharfedale Aura 2 review by ErinsAudioCorner

I'm a bad candidate to describe the sound as I do have some upper frequency hearing loss and tinnitus. I don't think they are overly hot or bright though, I have not found them offensive in any way in the week I've had them. They do have a more forward sound and energy compared to the revel...

Emotiva Airmotivs XT3 and XC1 Center require perfect amplifier!

What's your crossover setting in the AVR? Disable the subs and run the towers full range to help identify the potential issue. Even better, run one tower at a time with something you're familiar with and see if it sounds right.

Wharfedale Aura 2 review by ErinsAudioCorner

No, not at all, I can and will probably move them out more but space is limited. I'm using the new Monoprice easel style stands (18").

Wharfedale Aura 2 review by ErinsAudioCorner

Just got mine. Quick impressions are the midrange is more forward than my Revel M106, bass is plentiful and deep. Even during low level listening, you can feel the bass excite the room. They don't have the warmer sound I remember the Linton's having which I didn't care for. I'm impressed...

Dual sub placement - corner + side wall - is this a good idea?

Or if your main floor is open to the 2nd floor via an open stairwell and entryway, it makes using the sim very difficult.

Dual sub placement - corner + side wall - is this a good idea?

This is what works best in my open concept living room. I have one sub in the front right corner and the other mid wall on the other side. I've tried for symmetry first with both front corners but that results in a nasty 60-70hz dip. Placement options were very limited, but this strategy in...

    Revel M106 Bookshelf Speaker Review

Just some 28" Pangea Audio LS300 from Amazon. Denon x3800h and Emotiva bas-X 3. Using OCA's EVO A1 EQ script over the XT32 calibration with great results.

    Revel M106 Bookshelf Speaker Review

I just rotated the M106 back into my main system and man do they still impress me. I've been running the JBL Studio 680 with the 665c center and they are fun for HT but the Revel is a noticeable improvement in just about everything except bass quantity. The only speakers I've heard at this...

Dirac vs Audyssey Results and Questions

I'm very pleased with the lastest version of the EVO A1. I have never been able to get my sub/main integration to sound as smooth as it does now. My mains crossed at 60hz (JBL Studio 680) sound like full range towers and not towers with a subwoofer.

    Ascend Acoustics Sierra LX Review

I have the same amp, just the 3 channel version. I've ran the LX full range using the Emotiva and my Denon x3800h AVR and could not really tell a difference over multiple days and different media. I ended up taking the Emotiva out of the mix to simplify my system.

    Ascend Acoustics Sierra LX Review

I think you're in for a real treat. I went from Revel M106 to the LX's and there was no turning back. Prior to the Revel's I had 580's and still have a pair of 680 in the basement system.
