Did you have the delay or switching gap issues on your Topping? My EX5 stutters a bit when bit rate or MQA resolutions change. Wondering if any if these settings will help?

You can absolutely plug a CD player into it (line input) and capture the digital output via the USB port in the front going into a PC and the recording software NAD provide. However now you have gone from digital to analog in the CD player, then from analog to digital on the NAD. Kind of a waste...

Hi. Can you explain why MQA is a scam? I'm not taking a position either way, but have been doing lots of reading in both the pro and con camps and find it a really interesting debate. Trying to figure out why so many big guns are getting behind it, if it is so flawed.

I also have the Rega and thought of trying this as well. However even the MM input voltage is way less the a typical line input voltage, meaning you'll seriously overload it with a tape deck or CD player. Thats where the NAD wins out.

What other products that include line in functionality are out there? i.e. MM and MC and line in? Any suggestions? I use the NAD for its primary purpose, digitising my vinyl collection, but being able to also pull in other sources has been very useful.

How did you determine the current firmware version on the EX5? Couldn't find that option anywhere ....

Old post I know, but did you mean Sennheiser M40X or Audio Technica M40X? If it was the ATs, then the EX5 drives them well with standard gain setting. Also works well with the AT M50X.

@JohnYang1997 almost afraid to ask with all the anti MQA comments, but what do I need to do to get the mauve MQA LED? Using Tidal Masters to put the EX5 thru its paces and can see the green and blue light depending on the track chosen, but so far no mauve light. Have set Tidal for exclusive...
