    Legal fund for Reviewers/Erin?

Here’s an interesting find: Statement from Eric regarding the bass response of the Troubadour vs Erin’s measurements. Can we actually trust Eric’s measurements either way?

    Legal fund for Reviewers/Erin?

Stumbled across a reupload of his first video on YouTube. (Not affiliated, don’t sue me)

    Legal fund for Reviewers/Erin?

This is unhinged behavior. How are you going to attack a reviewer and threaten litigation over “Incorrect measurements” while simultaneously claiming you are under no obligation to release measurements of your own? This dude is overdue for a reality check. This is incredibly sad to see.

Eric deleted my comment on his new video… This dude seems to only know how to silence his critics haha!

    Kenwood L-05M Vintage Amplifier Review

The Mk1 can and will oscillate if the ground implementation isn’t taken care of. It’s a very poor connection that suffers fatigue from stress overtime. Both the Mk1 and Mk2 suffer from this same issue sadly. Here is the original ground connection on the main PCB. As you can see, it is very...

    Kenwood L-05M Vintage Amplifier Review

I assume you’re talking about the L-07M here, as the L-05M never had a second revision… Having resorted and listened to both the Mk1 and Mk2 L-07Ms, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the Mk2 is the better of the two. The only physical differences between the two are the amplifier...

    Kenwood L-05M Vintage Amplifier Review

HK775’s are terrible from a design, layout, reliability, and servicing point of view. I restored a pair about a year ago, and that is the last pair I will ever touch. They sound phenomenal though which is one of their only redeeming qualities. Oh, and their aesthetics :) …I do wonder how they...

    Kenwood L-05M Vintage Amplifier Review

Filter capacitors age just as other electrolytic capacitors do. I restore audio equipment daily and can say with confidence that the DC leakage, ESR, and capacitance have all drifted in the original filter capacitors. There are many mods that can be done to the power supplies in the L series...

Kenwood L-08M Monoblock Amplifier (Vintage Review)

Speaking of the L-07MII, I just finished a comprehensive restoration and repair on a set yesterday. The video can be found here:

Kenwood L-08C Pre-amplifier Review (Vintage Audio, QuirkAudio restored)

Kenwood's marketing team was very clever. What better way to cheap out on the chassis than to claim that it's the superior way of doing so, while pushing beauty shots in magazines. They were capable of making the L-08C a stellar preamp on the physical front, even while pushing the "anti...

Kenwood L-08M Monoblock Amplifier (Vintage Review)

I agree almost fully. Harry Pearson of TAS actually used the L-07M's in his reference system for years because he liked them so much. I will share scans I took of his review in a 1977 issue of The Absolute Sound. --But yes. The anti-Japanese vitriol masked with a patronizing attitude was...

Kenwood L-08M Monoblock Amplifier (Vintage Review)

The L-08M’s were and still are fantastic amplifiers. I’ve had the privilege to restore and use a pair of these gorgeous amplifiers recently. They are among some of the best I have heard in my system. Everything OP stated is exactly how I hear them. A link to a thread on the restoration I...

    Abyss Diana V2 Review (headphone)

Which is exactly why people will have a hard time trusting Abyss’ / JPS’ claims and measurements while they sell snake oil on the side. They’re a business. They have to make money, and they know audiophiles are a mentally deranged and gullible bunch.

    Abyss Diana V2 Review (headphone)

Abyss / JPS talking about the importance of measuring equipment, as well as knowing how to use it, while simultaneously selling $5k cables... hmm.

Sure your headphones measure well, but can they do THIS?

    Distortion Listening Test

I didn't bother with the music tests, as they aren't as linear as the sine wave tests. There would be no way to get an "accurate" self measurement IMO. On the flip side, the music tests are more "realistic" for an every day listening test

    Distortion Listening Test

I managed to get a perfect score using STAX SR-001 Mk2 IEMs and an RME ADI-2 DAC as a source. I found that some of the "lower" distortion tests were easier to decipher than some "higher" distortion tests. Very strange. I think this is a great ear trainer nonetheless!
