Really hard to say. I'm trying to buy a 389 from the current rep firm for a deal but not heard back yet. I want to put faith in them but that was a tough 8 years while they were trying to figure out the issues.

Funny. It's this "group" that are more thought as the "audiphool" as you speak of. The ones who live by the specs first and and then listening second. But it's fun to see everyone substantiate the ratings.

Looks like single frequency testing. Would be nice to see some FTC stipulation on this stuff but unfortunately, it's like bogus car audio amps of the past. Pick a frequency....pick a distortion number...etc...and rate it. It's completely doubtful anyone could pick the difference between .09%...

You know....full bandwidth 20hz to 20khz @ 0.xx% thd like what good companies do instead of deceptive power output claims. FTC ratings.

I get a kick out of people saying to buy the little chifi TI chip amps over something rated at "10wpc" when no one really ever says what the el cheapo chifi amps produce in full bandwidth power. I could care less that it says "300 watts for only $89!!!" which reminds me of BS car audio ratings...

I can buy the A-S801 from a local dealer/long time friend/old A/V account for sheet cost. I'd rather buy one of these than a dozen of these little cheap chip amps that are rated with some 90's cheap car audio standard. I just can't do disposable.

One thing I can say for sure after having been an NAD/PSB manufacturers rep from 2001 to 2009. The main takeaway I have is this....they were/are a decent hardware company but sucked at the software side. There were constant firmware update issues to the point I had dealers dropping the line...

Probably because that's right at where most of these fall on their face at full bandwidth testing for any amount of time. Just speculation.

No. I mean a real rating from the manufacturer like most actual audio companies have been doing for the last 50 years or so. You know like....40 watts per channel from 20hz to 20khz @ .01% versus the power rating junk Pyramid car audio amps of the 90's did. Nobody listens to 1khz test tones...

So are all of these amps rating power at 1khz only like cheap car audio amps of the 80's & 90's? What do they do with full bandwidth? A 1/4 of rated or less?

Without reading through 27 pages here, plus the rather fuzzy Fosi site, what's the real full bandwidth rated power on this amp and not the worthless 1khz test tone rating? You know....20hz to 20khz maybe.

I originally bought one of these for my son's room so he could stream Spotify via Bluetooth from his iPhone to a pair of ads L300c speakers. He seems to be happy with it but he's 16 and part of the air pod generation. So, I bought another one to have for when I get some gear I need to test out...
