Why woofers with strong motors dont do bass ( it is counterintuitive )

I'd say 'need' is the wrong word. Each type of driver is intentionally designed with the correct parameters for a reflex design or sealed or other design such as dipole and free air. I should note. Drivers using 'big' magnet designs are actually often involved in high powered sealed designs...

    Replacing The Manufacture’s Jumper Bar

I like them as it allows me to easily measure the woofer and tweeter (or whatever config it is) seperately. I also have no problem with people who want to bi-amp certain speakers(and apply some PEQ separately to each amp), though any gains will be in select situations and even then likely near...

"Music-First Audiophile" Manifesto by John Darko

Yes, while I am not looking to excite a political riot here or figure out who is awake and who is dreaming, there just is a lot of waste in buying any new physical media. I get it some folks just love that liner note or cover art, plus shopping out and about. That said to riff off what you folks...

"Music-First Audiophile" Manifesto by John Darko

Well to be fair Amir is a retired man and made, well, plenty. Reality is Darko uses his channel to make his living. Actually if you think about... just saying. Really I have love all around for every decent audiophile and audiofool. Man I wish I could make decent money doing something fairly...

"Music-First Audiophile" Manifesto by John Darko

Why? Is everything most true about you reflected in the character you play when trying to make money? Anyway Darko surely is not 'peak hypocrisy' as you stated? I've never thought he was anything except a guy who really likes music (and gear) ie a hobbyist, and then he realized he could work...

You might have if it was a Topping and your cables were thick and inflexible.

"Music-First Audiophile" Manifesto by John Darko

Nah, I've gleaned quite a bit of good content from his music choices in the vids. It's one reason I like to watch him. Plus I can tell he means well & tries to tell a meaningful tale with equipment reviews which counts in my book even if it isn't very close to Floyd Tool and Sean Olive approved...

"Music-First Audiophile" Manifesto by John Darko

Can't say I disagree with any of these points you listed on Darko's behalf.(have not watched the vid yet, will when I have time) #2 is pretty much covered by any streaming service so no need to wonder, I've got a lot of content. At the end of the day Darko is an entertainer & does this for a...

Tekton style like tweeter array good idea?

No, but if you were sued they surely wouldn't get much from you. Plus as mentioned they generally must be actively using the patent in products being sold, especially if older.

Tekton style like tweeter array good idea?

Yes, I can. I usually do this to most speakers anyway and so I'm also curious. Give me the weekend. I'll post images soon, likely Monday.

Tekton style like tweeter array good idea?

Those benefit from horn loading and that is a beefy 30mm. So in the '2-12 perfect Set' example it might be overkill. Sensitivity is a factor, IDK what woofers those are but if 2 of them have high sensitivity then extra tweeters make some sense. I have used (with limited experience)some typical...

    Tekton M-Lore Speaker Review

See post #1385 https://audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/tekton-m-lore-speaker-review.48732/post-1944844 There are nut inserts in the holes. (are there some without these?) I used Allen head threaded inserts(also overkill wrapped in Teflon tape to avoid any chance of metal on metal...

    Tekton M-Lore Speaker Review

I have posted multiple times but both threads are very long. I'm going to post again now due to actually having a set of speakers with this issue. Though I can't speak for the M-Lore or Troubadour. There is a reason I ended up discovering the foot holes go through and that they need to be...

    Tekton M-Lore Speaker Review

Well again to be clear, I'm not defending Tekton, I just think for anyone who has never designed a speaker the following viewpoint may help. Reality is it is just so easy to do real measurements and quality nearly free solutions exist that are reasonably accurate, even extremely accurate in the...

    Tekton M-Lore Speaker Review

Odd, I had not considered this. In retrospect it certainly seems plausible that the design work was contracted out. Obviously we don't know for sure though. I am no fan now of Tekton but it there is no reason to to conclude this. I've DIYed, there is no way they would be as good as they are if...

    Tekton M-Lore Speaker Review

? Hilarious. That looks like the woofer RAW responce. Maybe even from the woofer manufacturer. That is absolutely not a measurement of any finished speaker, let alone the M-Lore

    Tekton M-Lore Speaker Review

@Eric Alexander , I've tested over 50 pairs of speakers and self produced a few DIY designs, and my Impact Monitor set is the 1st set that had cabinet holes where the 'feet' go. EVER. Get a manual printed up and get folks in the know because I see many images of your products without feet...

    Legal fund for Reviewers/Erin?

Howdy. No in my view this is not correct. The added holes give the enclosure a different/varied volume. It is a leaky enclosure. In general terms a ported enclosure is essentially a sealed enclosure except around port tuning where the slug of air in the port begins to resonate and move air like...

    Legal fund for Reviewers/Erin?

I have the same speakers. Mine make obvious chuffing noises. Really obvious with certain content. You never heard anything? I used threaded inserts with Allen heads to fill the mounting holes in a hidden fashion. I also wrapped the inserts in Teflon tap but that is def not required.

    Legal fund for Reviewers/Erin?

Yes, having a hole all the way through is fine as long as the buyer knows they need to be plugged. The feet look terrible to me(even given the speakers fugly style) and many, many stands would not be large enough for all 4 fixed feet locations to be on the stands top. Listening it was obvious...
