I heard that the Muses 02 is a very suitable match for this amp. Has anyone tried them or maybe the Muses 01 op amps? If so were you pleased or not with the results?

Maybe you could consider the Nad 316Bee V2…it is around the same price but no dac. Clean sound and well built.

I thought this would be the case with the FW update which I believe is the only update available on SMSLs website for the AO300. One issue is after contacting SMSL is that it is only available for Windows OS. The FW update will not work with MacOs yet.

Adding the T8 to the A08 pro will allow you to control EQ and volume via remote control. You might find that it will smooth the digital nature of the A08 Pro because of the tube. I have to agree. A delicious amount of musical information given with precision and space. However the low frequency does lack a little detail and heft so the room for improvement, in my opinion, is in Infineon’s hands and not SMSL.

I have. I use a Belden cord with Furutech heads and against all skeptics including myself the difference is audible when compared to stock cables from sellers but then that really wouldn't be hard to achieve these days.
