Tone controls are very limiting. The Equalizer APO software is much superior. You can tweak the sound to great lengths compared to tone controls. Even the good ones like Shiit audio tone control are limited.

I correct myself, the measurements are still valid for the single AKM chip prototype of the K9. But they are not valid for the newest dual ES9038 Pro chips version.

They completely redesigned it when the Sabre ESS version came out. These measurements are not valid anymore.

I am actively considering purchasing Fiio K9 Pro Ess instead. First, it is fully balanced. Second, slightly more powerful. Third, dedicated physical input/output buttons, two ESS 9038 Pro's inside . But the negatives are - no remote, no screen and only the app on the phone and no ASR measurements.

I have two questions about K9 Pro. First, is there a standby mode so when I turn on my PC to turn on the K9 automatically and the second is can you switch outputs and inputs directly from the phone app? Thank you.
