    KEF LS60 Wireless Just Announced

Of course you dont want users to fill in individual coefficients. Ample solutions. GLM offers a figure of the response postEQ for visual inspection. MutliSubOptimizer and MiniDSP ask users to export REW coefficient into a .txt file, to import that file in their software. The latter two are...

    KEF LS60 Wireless Just Announced

Customers making PEQ mistakes is just poor user interface. At least add a big green button 'Factory Default Settings'. Of course, automated room correction is even less error prone.

    KEF LS60 Wireless Just Announced

This is a thoughtful point. One hopes that competition between manufacturers would push them into adding PEQ. I, for one, bought several minidsp products (and non-KEF speakers); but would have gone for KEF had they included PEQ

DACs, DIRAC, Preamplification - What am I not understanding?

Yea, so if you confirm this is the issue, then you can i) check the level of your powered subs and perhaps raise the gain a little (so Dirac has more flexibility to cut away later), and ii) run Dirac again but use the settings to prevent boosting too much (essententially changing the level of...

DACs, DIRAC, Preamplification - What am I not understanding?

The SHD puts out 4 volts on XLR, which should drive any Poweramp to max level. If you find your volume to low, my first guess as an issue with the Dirac filters. A simple check is to turn off Dirac on the minidsp and pick a present without any filter active. Do you still have the low volume issue?

Genelec W371A + The Ones : My quest for the Grail is over

You dont need a fancy Trinnov for this (although it would have other benefits). I think any standard AVR can be set to say 5.0 or 7.0, with FL and FR set to full range. Those 2 channels would get the .1 and sub frequencies routed to them. Then you just connect the AVR with FR 8351, and...

    SMSL SD-9 Player Review

I guess the use-case is a digital preamp, connected to active speakers with interior dac? If the volume control is consistent across inputs, it could be a nice gadget.

    Genelec Dual Sub Optimisation

Your subs response looks really good until 100hz, so a crossover at 80 should be good. Your right speaker looks really good above 80hz. Only your left speaker has a dip at 100hz, but a very steep one (very high q), so I doubt its audible. A second sub wont help in terms of frequency response (it...

Coming soon: MiniDSP Flex with HDMI input

But for this application, the standard flex 8 would also work, connected over usb to HTCP (I suspect this model to be cheaper). Edit: nope, the flex 8 accepts only stereo input, not 8 independent channels! thanks @jaakkopetteri

Coming soon: MiniDSP Flex with HDMI input

While it won´t replace a full AVR, I think it is a great update to the existing minidsp line up. I currently use a Studio to stream and watch tv in a 2.2 system. The HDMI earc is really convenient and eliminates a remote control. The WISA makes it simple to add an additional sub. The trigger...

Coming soon: MiniDSP Flex with HDMI input

"The audio source must be able to output linear PCM (LPCM) for multichannel support over HDMI." What does that mean? If I use the Netflix app on my TV, I understand it can output 5.1, would that work?? I don't see the MChannel application.

Genelec GLM Review (Room EQ & Setup)

Thank you for your response. I happily use Genelecs in my living room--poorly treated and wanting good sound for multiple listeners, so yes I am a collapser :D I would much appreciate Genelecs guidance here, also in view of competitors offering multisub DSP solutions.

Neumann MA1 vs. Dirac Live Bass Control (DLBC) - Dual KH750 subs

This frequency is right at the crossover, so the two subs and the main play about equally loud. It seems that 2subs+L gives a dip while 2 subs+R do not. There must be some reflection from L that destructively interferes with one of the subs.

Neumann MA1 vs. Dirac Live Bass Control (DLBC) - Dual KH750 subs

Nice work!! I think the key difference is that DLBC targets the summed response of the subwoofers; which MA1 does not seem to do. In the third plot, MA1 with 2 subs shows a strong 12db dip at 85 hertz, which reduces to about a 6db dip with DLBC (second plot). That said, the overall differences...

Genelec GLM Review (Room EQ & Setup)

Trial and error of all the placement combinations of two subs is a ton of work. Especially awkward since all the necessary hardware to run a multisub optimization is already present--its just the software lacking this function.

Genelec GLM Review (Room EQ & Setup)

GLM time aligns each sub with a speaker and then optimizes independently. This is a pity, because depending on phase the subs will either sum or (partly) cancel out. The summed response might even be less flat than that of a single sub in the main listening position.

Genelec 8330A x 2+7350A: worth upgrading to 8351B x 2 given the placement on desk?

The 8351B are awesome, but a lot of money goes into the capability to listen midfield (say 3 meters). If you are sure you are not gonna use that, I would save some money to get the 8331 for the same coaxials, and use the difference to get a single 7350. That would truly be full range, and...

$30K Budget - On the quest for my "end game" speaker

What Benanders said. The argument is that just a left and right speaker is too limited to completely fill up a room with even sound. Toole discusses this in his book; and there are various threads on ASR, one being...
