My choice, would be the early 2000s era Advent AS2 speaker. I got at Goodwill for literally $9.99 each.....;) Relatively flat response, will play quite loud and never annoying. Vifa tweeters! It does it all reasonably good and gets bass down into the mid 30s range.

This type of speaker (Specialized In wall/ceiling design) you really need to "Hear it" to know how it will be perceived subjectively.

Cinching ends were never made to be used with RCA connectors. I agree RCA is not the best, but not based on using a non standard connector, that causes the issue itself.

The Tweeter Impedance AND distortion are quite high between 4-6 Khz or so, and the output is fairly LOW at that point. (Amirs Measurements) Does that give a hint as to what could be wrong? JBL shows around 12-15 ohms in that region, Amir found it between 40-63 ohms....?? These are very high...

my church does angled down about 45 Degrees side fill speakers (Near the ceiling) near the front and some almost midway back. But again far bigger than these. The main arrays are just multiples of the side arrays, with like 6 instead of 1.

Honestly its not a "bad" speaker, but simply very over-priced for what it is. A decent although quite small 3" full range driver, that has fairly good mids and so on, but not worth even close to a thousand for a fully finished model. As a mid only driver from maybe 700--3 to 4 khz it would work.

As long as there are audiophiles that have very little understanding of how human hearing works, there will be a market for this silly stuff. I have been in forums where many guys seriously believe, they have superior hearing and have almost no understanding or belief in how our mind factors...

I think the only potential issue, may be the lower sensitivity of this design. I would imagine somewhere in the 83-84 db region. Where most typical MTM or 2.5 way are closer to 88-90 db

I would have maybe more trouble calling a 33" speaker a bookshelf though.....;)
