Power cable tech talk and a little help for Amir at Audio Science Review

As usual, Danny's strongest arguments are that if you can't hear a difference, than your system, setup, room, or possibly your hearing is just simply not good enough. I wish this would stop some day.

Measuring power output of a speaker amp to the speaker?

Weather it clips or not may also depend on program material, no matter how many watts are available. Having a couple of db of headroom is beneficial regardless, which depends on the amp design, rather than power capability.

Is transient response the most important thing for the perceived audio quality in a system ?

FWIW this is normal/slow motion animation of in room low frequency transients of my system, playing some EDM. FFT at MLP.

Is transient response the most important thing for the perceived audio quality in a system ?

Yes they possibly would if the final "polishing" done by mastering engineer wouldn't be affected by the label to sound like "that". ;)

Is transient response the most important thing for the perceived audio quality in a system ?

You may say that. But, just by having ns10's along many, many other tools and clearly some knowledge at hand does not imply this man should keep them hidden in the closet. In his other videos he demonstrates how manipulating numerous plugins affects the sound of the mix and some of other...

Is transient response the most important thing for the perceived audio quality in a system ?

This is very interesting. It has been my observation that transients in music which are relatively long in duration and contain a wide range of frequencies (I've seen as much as 40-110 Hz) can be perceived by body sensors and ears as a bulk of information - just a single transient with distinct...

Is Amateur Piano Recording This Hard?

Recording a piano, also playing it in a way that would flatter the recording equipment or the room you have for a better end result is hard. I find this video really interesting as it contains some practical examples:

Speakers that are unforgiving of poor-quality recordings - is that a thing?

To me it's that known good recordings are revealing flaws in loudspeakers, transparent systems are good at revealing flaws in recordings, and anything in between. But in the end, if it's the music that I really like, I don't mind the poor quality.

The quest for my hyper speaker - Very Large room dilemma

You're wrong. Many pages back I suggested a pair of loudspeakers which have total of 8 times 12 inch drivers, 4 times 8 inch drivers, 8 times 6,5 inch drivers and of course high frequency drivers. They are active, DSP, have controlled directivity and available 2000 watts of power per speaker...

The quest for my hyper speaker - Very Large room dilemma

Sorry for reposting this video, but Geddes shows some simulation of speaker placement and toe in with regards to directivity, starting from 28:31 to 32:48. About dynamics, I'm not sure if they are affected that much, but in my experience, having speakers too far apart, or less than ideal toe...
