    Sound United U 30 Update (Denon X3800H / X4800H / A1H, Marantz Cinema 50 / 40 / AV 10)

Is Dirac Live worth using over Audyssey without DLBC of using 2 subs? How does Dirac Live handle subs without bass control function?

    Sound United U 30 Update (Denon X3800H / X4800H / A1H, Marantz Cinema 50 / 40 / AV 10)

Nice to see ART on the PowerPoint presentation. No idea what it says on there... Just wishful thinking that it must mean it's coming to at least the X3800H

    New Sony ES 8K AV Receiver Line STR-AZ7000ES STR-AZ5000ES STR-AZ3000ES STR-AZ1000ES

Absolutely. I change my mind every 5 minutes after declaring something. This way we get to find out if the unit was to blame. I look forward to the update. My only concern is that this part of a batch with a production line fault… Then we might not learn anything

    Kef R Meta Series Release

The Linton is the speaker I’ve had for the longest length in time in… Forever! The speaker I had before them were KEF Reference 3. Those speakers were magical, but I needed the money. I then found the Linton and have been perfectly happy with them. Apparently, Wharfedale have a new speaker...

In wall speakers - Problem with recessed tv?

I’m going through my home cinema build and am thinking about mounting the tv. I really like the look of recessed tvs (like the attached image), but my worry is that this causes an issue with my in wall speakers (Revel W553L). Is it better to have a flat wall for the speakers (with the tv...

Help Needed. Wide & Shallow vs Long & Narrow Room Setup

I have used the various calculators online to try and get the right tv distance. That is my first consideration. If only I’d of built it 1m wider! Hindsight!

Help Needed. Wide & Shallow vs Long & Narrow Room Setup

Really appreciate your advice. I've made some slight changes (and realised the room is actually smaller than I said after plasterboarding - 4.7m x 2.7m) and am pretty happy with where I've finished. I've moved the sofa back a bit and changed the rear standmount speakers for in-walls. Also made...

Help Needed. Wide & Shallow vs Long & Narrow Room Setup

Thanks again for your help. I think, after mapping both scenarios up, the setup on the short wall will ‘probably’ work best in that room. This setup gets me a 7.2.4 Atmos solution, which I’m hoping is worth it. My biggest concern right now is whether with the stud insulation, resilient bars...

Help Needed. Wide & Shallow vs Long & Narrow Room Setup

Thanks for your comment. The only caveat I should add to that is on the rear of the long wall (behind my head to the right of the MLP) is a large window... So I can't use much absorption.

Help Needed. Wide & Shallow vs Long & Narrow Room Setup

To cut a long story short, I've built a room in the garden that is kind of neither here nor there in terms of what it could have been. I was originally going to use it as a workshop, but now have decided to do the best I can and make it a home theatre. The dimension are 4.9m x 2.9m. I am just...

Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary speaker review & measurements by Erin's Audio Corner

I understand what you are saying based on my comment. I wish I knew why I prefer wider baffle designs in general. Maybe I’ve just preferred the ‘voicing’ of the ones I’ve heard. Saying that… I didn’t care for the L100 Classic. I certainly don’t know what’s going on

Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary speaker review & measurements by Erin's Audio Corner

This explains something which I’ve never been able to explain! It's the reason why I seem to be drawn to the sound of wider baffle/larger driver speakers.

Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary speaker review & measurements by Erin's Audio Corner

I've owned these for 6 months and yes they do need EQ in small rooms. Then again, most speakers need this in my room! I had an integrated amp with Dirac and it made me incredibly happy with the sound. Unfortunately I had to sell the amp due to financials, but I'm making do with Roon PEQ to deal...

Focus - new active Dynaudio speakers

To me, this is a more useful speaker than the new KEF LS60… The Dirac Live addition swings it massively into Dynaudio’s direction… However, shame I can afford neither! Hopefully these speaker types are the way forward with built in correction and the prices start to come down.

    KEF LS60 Wireless Just Announced

A question to those more knowledgeable… Did they have to be this narrow due to some scientific reason? Or is it aesthetic? I only say because it upsets me just how narrow these are. One of the oddest looking speakers I’ve seen.

    KEF LS60 Wireless Just Announced

No mention of room correction... Yet. Personally, I can't see them adding it, which is a shame. All this tech is worthless if the room is shite. Yeah, you can PEQ via Roon, but I've never been able to get as good a result with PEQ as I have with Dirac. But the biggest turn off for me is that...

Thanks… Good God, they are ugly. Something about the shape of them just looks so awkward to me.

    KEF LS60 Wireless Just Announced

I just had an email that KEF will be unveiling their 60th anniversary product… The LS60 Wireless… Looks like it’ll be a floorstanding LS50 Wireless. Great news!
