    IEM for gaming (competetive/esport)

Honestly: The advice already given here is solid. But one point has not been touched on: Noise isolation. You can only identify sounds - including footsteps - if they surpass the noise floor of your environment. At least assuming that you can't crank the IEMs to oblivion because at some point...

Simplest solution to desktop sub bass management?

I'm in the same position, but didn't have the motivation to do something about it, yet  A miniDSP 2x4 between PC and A30 would probably work fine. Use one set of outputs to tdrve the A30, the other to drive both subs. I would assume that you'll loose some SINAD headroom on the DAC...

Atoll DAC200 Signature - Review & Measurements (DAC)

If you require multiple inputs and want excellent performance, the Octo DAC8 Sterero could be a solution. Sadly, it has the unpleasant characteristic of being continuously out of stock :(

Do ohm resistors help the sound for high impedance amps and ear buds?

The SP200 has near-zero output impedance. Amir found no problems with it in the review.

No more excuses for no oscilloscope

If you can live without the component tester or want to buy that seperately, this Zeeweii is even cheaper and has a much higher bandwidth (>20 MHz, instead of <1 MHz): Cheap oscilloscopes have really made significant progress in the past couple of years. I don't really need one, but I do want...

What does it take to succesfully transition to a green energy economy?

You can troll all you want, it doesn't change reality. The question of man made climate change is settled beyond reasonable doubt. Far, far beyond. The fact that you can find individuals or organisations amongst the 8 billion people on this planet who don't understand climate change, are...

Atoll DAC200 Signature - Review & Measurements (DAC)

Almost funny. You can get better performance for 4 $ with the cheapest DAC amir tested to date. Granted, that produces 0.8 V and here, you get 2.3 V (both RCA), but this one is also 10 dB worse in SINAD. So, what you gain is mostly louder trash ;)

What does it take to succesfully transition to a green energy economy?

Honestly: If you don't bother checking the sources I provided, what's even the point of discussing this further? Porsche literally writes "more than 80% EVy by 2030". They're massively scaling up EV production for their consumer cars, synthetic fuels are irrelevant for Porsche in the mass...

What does it take to succesfully transition to a green energy economy?

Not all details are clear, far from it. But the direction 100% is and we're figuring out the rest as we go. That's how progress works, always. Also, you are misinformed about both, Toyota and Porsche. That's what I meant when I said "the discussion here is pretty tiring if you are informed...

What does it take to succesfully transition to a green energy economy?

That's even less efficient than the already absymal Hydrogen ICE route. If you work in finance, you should know that this route isn't economically feasible and never will be due to the low efficiency and the enourmus additional capital costs required to build new refineries for the technology...

    ChatGPT to calculate DIY speakers

Sorry, but you are mistaken. ChatGPT does hallucinate all the time and it will give you incorrect formulae. In fact, hallucinations are one of the main problems OpenAI faces right now, along with morally questionable answers. Also, there's lots of freeform text in the answer you quoted yourself...

    SMSL SU-10 DAC Review

No, you're not the only one ;) There should be no difference with music at normal listening levels. The sound color option introduces distortions at -60 dB or lower, depending on the setting. Most people can't hear distortion below -40 dB with real music, almost nobody can hear it below -50 dB...

    ChatGPT to calculate DIY speakers

The point is that you know how this specific calculation works and which formulae are correct. But ChatGPT likes to hallucinate: It gives convincing answers, which are blatantly false. If you ask ChatGPT about something you are not an expert in and/or you couldn't do yourself (with much more...

What does it take to succesfully transition to a green energy economy?

Fun fact: Researchers recently discovered a major driver of self discharge in Lithium cells. It's "just" the PET tape. This is great because it can easily be replaced. This might lead to Lithium batteries with significantly lower self discharge in the near future.

    New Chinese IEM's

Many - but not all - of the KZ IEMs are more or less the same FR-wise. They tend to be heavily V-shaped with a dip in the mids and excess energy in the upper bass. The most common recommendation on ASR are the Truthear X Crincale Zero and the 7Hz Salnotes Zero, which are both much more neutral.

What does it take to succesfully transition to a green energy economy?

I like your humor ;) Just to clarify, the total efficiency (electric power input -> axis driven on a vehicle) of different drivetrain concepts is roughly the following: EVs: ~75% Hydrogen FCVs: ~30% Hydrogen ICEs: <20% The cost of the primary energy (in the form of electricity) used for these...

    Troubleshooting audio issues in PC

OK. I assume you also switched inputs on the DAC during testing with USB. So bluetooth from the PC directly to the headphone? OK, that eliminates crackling in the source files, not much else. OK, but do you know which rates and bit depths are actually used? 96 kHz? 48 kHz? I ask, because...
