I gave examples of highly regarded IEMs that chose to tune the 2-6kHz region differently, I don't think there is anything wrong questioning the IE Harman target, after all the Red is supposed to be contrary to that target so the gate is open now really.

Do you believe that the Harman IE target has had enough research though? I personally don't, Headphones, yes, but IE is a totally different ball game.

Maybe, but then IEMs like the SA6/Ultra/MK2, U12T, and the IER-M9 (3kHz dip) that are all very highly regarded IEMs say otherwise, I just think that the IE target needs a lot more refinement in this region.

You are correct, according to that slide which was originally supplied by Rob Watts himself, 3v is Violet, not blue, so I can only guess that the instructions are incorrect, I've emailed Chord to see if they can clarify this.

Ideal, thanks guys, pure passthrough works well for me, I guess It acts like a splitter enabling to send my DAC to my headphone amp and stereo integrated amp at the same time.

Is it effected by the volume control or headphones being plugged in/out? In an ideal world I'd like a dac connected to the 887, and then pass it through to my stereo amplifier that powers my passive speakers.
