    Audio-technica ATH-MSR7 Headphone Review

There are some interesting official modified versions of the MSR7 with, so it seems, the same drivers & frequency response. Out of nerdy curiosity I was always interested in the DSR7BT. https://www.audio-technica.com/en-us/ath-dsr7bt "These innovative headphones feature Audio-Technica’s new...

"Non-Vented" IEMs? Is this a thing?

I already use the ER4XR for travelling by train. The isolation is indeed great; the comfort is fair but not optimal. It is also annoying to get a good seal sometimes. Thats why I thought about getting an IEM which comes close to its isolation but is more practical / comfortable. I also own a 7hz...

    SIVGA SV021 Headphone Review

Yes. By the way this photo is, of course, not real but a montage. Zotter is a luxury chocolate brand from austria (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zotter_Schokolade). It was funded way after the war and, of course, has nothing to do with that "Panzerschokolade" thing.

    SIVGA SV021 Headphone Review

On the other hand, Crinacles measurement looks as V-Shaped as amirs, even if you align it this way. https://crinacle.com/graphs/headphones/graphtool/?share=Harman_AE_OE_2018_Target,SV021

"Non-Vented" IEMs? Is this a thing?

I just saw a review about the "Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite" (feel free to tell me how to make this video smaller): This is not about this particular IEM, but the reviewer said whats special about it is that it is not "vented", so it seals/isolates better but the pressure can become uncomfortable...

AKG K702: a valid alternative EQ to Harman Curve for you to try

(This is off topic. Maybe you should ask this in the topics below or in a new thread.) Sorry, I actually did not hear the 560s and the 600 in person and also only can tell you what I saw on graphs and heard in forums atm. I'd like to try them out though, too. The 560s and 600 both are known to...

AKG K702: a valid alternative EQ to Harman Curve for you to try

Skyairs EQ works for me for most songs. As I said above, I hear a slight peak in that area, but nothing which urgently needs to be adressed. This is the one I am currently using, also vaguely based on Oratory1990s EQ. But this is not scientific and not supposed to hit the harman target...

What’s a good headphone to compliment my Element II? I do a lot of gaming, media consumption, etc.

Oh no. If you were happy with your headphone just until you read the review, dont let you tell otherwise. The harman curve is not for everyone and distortion is harder to hear than most people think. :) The 990 is considered to be rather "controversial" because of its harsh treble. If you didnt...

7hz Salnotes Zero - the "other" Zero

It doesnt seem so. And I must say, it would have surprised me if it had. This might sound weird but this didnt look like a "Blessing" kind of signature to me.

7hz Salnotes Zero - the "other" Zero

It seems like the upcoming "Project Red" by Crinacle is going to become a more refined 7hz Zero. He recently updated the frequency reponse to a "3.0b" version which is, according to him, probably going to be the final version. I guess it will become a Truthear release since the 200-1000hz range...

    Best sounding closed-back headphone $500-$1,000 for a non-audiophile?

A good friend of mine owns the 9200 and I listened to it for a night. I enjoyed it a lot. The sound signature mostly worked out for me. Burials "Untrue" blew my mind as the sound of the headphone played to its strenghts. That said, it is a fact that it is definetely not a harman-tuned phone. It...

    Sennheiser HD 660S2

According to these measurements it is quite close to the Focal Elear (not sure how reliable rtings is). https://www.rtings.com/headphones/1-5/graph#38464/7903/493

Are there any budget headphones that come with durable ear pads and neutral sound signature?

According to measurements, you might not like the Shure SRH840a if you want to go for a neutral sound signature. It has evelated bass and treble. The M40x also had that to some degree, but the 840A has even slightly more bass. Edit: That said, it is a good thing to value longetivity. If the...

AKG K702: a valid alternative EQ to Harman Curve for you to try

I know from other headphones who my sweeps are supposed to sound like - not saying that I dont have any open questions left, but usually not in that area. When I use your measurement, I really hear an unusual downward slope. But again, this does not mean at all that your EQ or measurements are...

AKG K702: a valid alternative EQ to Harman Curve for you to try

Your EQ doesnt sound right on my 702, but this could absolutely have to do with my positioning and/or my ears. I just dont hear that huge ~5,5khz peak on mine. While there is a peak in that area, it is way smaller. When I apply your EQ I hear a dip at ~5,5khz. I hear my 702 closer to Crinacles...

Closed phones recommendation for HD58x user

I still believe in my advice to go for the NDH 20 then. :p Close to the 58x or not. A closed headphone particularly known for its great subbass response is the Austrian Audio X-60 (unless you wear glasses, as solderdude found out). That said, you might find its treble a bit harsh. According...

Closed phones recommendation for HD58x user

You might come across quality control issues, and I have heard critisism about the comfort, especially the headband. Like many other planars, they are quite heavy (there are heavier ones though). Maybe you can tell us more about what sound change from your 58x would you rather like to see. More...

Closed phones recommendation for HD58x user

Generally the Elegia also has a warm neutral sound, the lower treble just looks a bit wonky on graphs. They are not bad, but you pay for the looks & the metal build to some degree. Are you into EQing? https://www.dropbox.com/s/ialbitfdqmx2jr4/Focal%20Elegia.pdf?dl=0

Closed phones recommendation for HD58x user

More than I remember, I admit. I would still say that both headphones share some similarities, as both have a warm neutral signature with a recessed ear gain and slightly dark treble. As a closed-back the NDH 20 has more bass, of course. They do not look as dissimilar on Crinacles Squiglink...
