    Room measurements with KEF R3

Thanks. I didn't know it's possible to have EQ for separate channels in Equalizer APO. Cool.

    Room measurements with KEF R3

I did the measurements sitting in my main listening position and moving my microphone more less like Erin described. Don't know if I did it OK but let's see if you can read something out of it. Much appreciate your help with all this.

Correct- No more acoustic treatment. Only digital correction now. How should those measurements be done? Are there any guidelines here at ASR?

@ernestcarl do you think reverb time for the frequencies below 150 Hz can be improved with DRC? I was thinking about trying out Lyngdorf or Arcam amps with correction.

Hi again :) Coming back with measurements after I installed all the acoustic treatment I wrote about earlier. SPL for both speakers SPL for L+R separately (L=orange) Clarity RT60 Overall I can hear a definitive improvement. The sound is calmer and I feel less fatigue when listening for...

    Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 questions

I'm not really sure how to interpret what Lyngdorf says about 'sound quality' between these two. I'm afraid it's just a marketing trick because there is no real successor so far... I have recently talked to someone who had 3400 and 1120 at home and he says: don't buy 1120, 3400 is much better...

    Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 questions

Hi, I'm completely new to Lyngdorf equipment. I thought of changing my amp to something with room correction and actually Lyngdorf looks best on paper for my speakers, which are KEF R3. Do you think TDAI-1120 would be sufficient to drive the R3's or maybe TDAI-2170 would be a better choice? I...

It's not GIK but it is probably similar. This is how they look at the back Guess you're right, I will have to measure before I hang them on the wall.

He's not really clear about the air gap... Does he mean hang the panel on longer screws, so that there is eg. 5 cm air gap from the wall, or have a panel with deeper frame and air gap INSIDE the panel? Sorry, it might be a stupid question but it's actually what the manufacturer of the panel...

I decided I will order one triangular bass trap to the right-front corner. Can't do more because of the shelves. Apart from that 6 hybrid absorbers 120x60x10 cm. 4 on the back wall, 1 on the right wall and 1 on the windowsill on the left. Something like this: There are other versions of the...

@hemiutut Do you mean put 20 cm absorber on the front wall (behind the speakers) and take a measurement?

Still clarity graph of my measurements doesn't look satisfactory, especially in the lower end. EDT in RT60 little bit off as well. There's actually quite a lot of figures in orange in Data Panel and I don't know what that means. REW Help says: Unreliable figures are italicised and shown orange...

    Room measurements with KEF R3

Hi again :) So I made a few panels out of glass wool (circa 7000 Pa.s/m2). 4 panels 20 cm thick and 2 panels 10 cm thick. 20 cm panels went to the left corners - almost floor to ceiling (2,4 m) with more less 10 cm air gap. For the other two panels I did some swapping and measuring. "Bass...

The fabric I'm talking about looks like this. It's recommended on other forums as good wrapping for wool so that it is not dusting. Now I'm thinking that maybe mixing Rockwool with Isover would bring better results (like ernestcarl suggested)? Less dense at front and more dense at back.

Thanks abdo123. Now I have experienced the difference at least. Actually I can even hear that my voice is less reverberant in the room. I think I will return Rockwool and try Isover instead. What do you think of wrapping it in non woven fabric (like for gardening)? It should be more breathable...

Nothing really happened above 200 Hz. Is it due to the placement or due to foil wrapping?

    Room measurements with KEF R3

The issue is that wool manufacturers in Poland don’t provide information about flow resitivity in Pa * s / m². I can only rely on converters and those may be misleading. For example on this page https://www.jochenschulz.me/en/blog/rockwool-glasswool-hemp-best-absorber-material there are...

Rockwool panels are called different in my country. The one I have now is Rockslab Acoustic, it's rock mineral wool. The other one with higher density is called Steprock Plus, also rock mineral wool. @abdo123 this is the converter kg/m3 - Pa.s/m2 I found on another forum. Density 30kg/m3 -...

Hmm, two different opinions on density. So better unpack the one I have now 50kg/m3 and make 4 panels 20cm thick (wrap in foil)? Or buy 4 of the higher density 110 kg/m3?

    Room measurements with KEF R3

So I went to a hardware store today, like @ernestcarl suggested some time ago, and bought two packages of Rockwool 60x100x40cm. I wanted to buy 4 packages but my car is too small... I put them on the floor like below (red ones) This is how the measurements look like for L (brown) + R...
