I was listening the 'The XX' last night, the one with the blue cover and while they don't have earthshaking bass the recording is well done with easy to follow bass lines, check it out.

I'm not conviced by what I just listened to, other than XX. I'd expect my body and walls to move.

One with many bass!

If you like Andy's work, then may I suggest Millie & Andrea's album 'Drop the Vowels'? Likewise for music by Demdike Stare although that's much harder to find digitally. All of the Modern Love collective make excellent stuff - local legends where I'm from :)

Tirzah's 'Make It Up' always gets a smile from me on a system with nice bass. It's not super deep or strong but it's a tidy bass line.

Keeping on the electronic front, Goth Trad's 'APES' is a sub melter as is Moderat's 'Bad Kingdom'.

However if you really want to scare the neighbours then you need the original CD recording of Avril Lavigne's 'Sk8r Boi'. I'm not joking. It's super compressed, and there's a brief moment of 'reversed vinyl' in a breakdown around 1:49 that's totally without a high pass. I've played it at on festival size systems and it's made my teeth hurt.

Don't know what to think about that. Might be an album also.

@hege Do you have other options for sox?

sox WARN rate: rate clipped 50 samples; decrease volume?

Edit... that is now for another track/album. I would need other options for sox.

sox WARN rate: rate clipped 50 samples; decrease volume?
sox WARN dither: dither clipped 46 samples; decrease volume?

@hege https://linux.die.net/man/1/sox

-V[level] Set verbosity. SoX displays messages on the console (stderr) according to the following verbosity levels: 0
No messages are shown at all; use the exit status to determine if an error has occurred.
