Their new Pure Multichannel amplifier is just beautiful! From 7 up to 12 channels of Purifi 1ET400A amps, LT3045/LT3094 regulators, OPA1612 or Sonic Imagery 994 opamps.

Too bad about the opamp and regulator silliness.

Now the Mini has gain switch and both XLRs and RCAs.

Very nice, but a bit too late...
I wonder if I would have kept mine with these features (Especially the gain switch. I guess mine was set at 29dB).
You had a Mini? The Mini is based on 1ET400A with their own custom buffer board, so that they could change the design and add the variable gain switch.
I remember you had the Apollon based on ICEpower 1200AS. This has a built in buffer in the amp board and there was nothing Apollon could do to bypass it.

The opamp is opa1612 and the regulators are LDO LT3045/LT3094. So no esoteric discrete circuits.
Which is good for the price
I guess he was referring to other models. But even the Mini, it has the option of using Sonic Imagery discrete opamps when you configure it for buying online.

I guess you know that I'm aware of all this.;)
You had a Mini?
I did. Only for a little while.

Very good assembly and stunning look. The amp seems to be sculpted in stone. Nothing related to their regular case, which like I said left a bit to be desired.

Soundwise, on the other hand: I don't think it has worthed the "upgrade" (I paid close to 2000€, shipping, tax and White Pearl finish included). In fact, I even thought to subjectively prefer the 1200AS2 to it. Main reason: it seemed to "lack" power and didn't sound that much more transparent, or any better, than other good amps I own. Still a pretty good offering for non power-addicts as I am.

Good news, tho: Tibor told that most of the Apollon line will get the same chassis in the future.

I guessed you should know this but since I don't remember you having a white Mini I was not sure, so better to explain all the same. :)

Interesting report, thanks. I am still waiting for the high power Eigentakts to be released, and I am sure they will use their new custom chassis. I suppose the Modushop will be left to the entry level ones.

Jumping on the thread with a question...I am looking at the Apollon purifi amps and I am wondering why would one buy the normal (not the mini) one? I am just wondering if sonically they would sound the same and save 1k :)

Better ask Tibor himself.

Sure, double the power supply and separate buffers probably increases channel separation a little, maybe better power supply noise since they run with more overhead.

But how noticeable is this? Idk

I just found out their new stereo Purifi 1ET7040SA based amplifiers, using a new chassis. Looks awesome in that grey! And the inside super clean as usual, with maximum stereo separation too.

Looks great so far.

The design is 15 years old, and was made by the same guy who designed this in 2002 (maybe @Frank Dernie would know him):

There were 4 variants of that headphone amp design, none of them went to production. The amp was finally produced in a small series of some 30 pcs, but with a cheaper, though still nice case.
